Not sure how useful is the apple care extension since it only covers manufacturer defect, and normally you would already know if your unit has any defects within the 1 year usage.. it would be useful imo if we could get the AppleCare+ though (sadly not available in malaysia) , as it covers accidental damages/cracks etc
*
Hmm what if I buy macbook from singapore with applecare+, will it be covered in Malaysia for accidental damage?

Nope, regardless where you buy the AppleCare+ they are not covered by our local AASP, but you can bring them back to other countries that cover apple care+ for warranty claim..

I really recommend apple care extension especially for Macbook because of its reparability. Everything is soldered into board. My macbook once suddenly died. Lucky got extension.

For me it’s not useful as I didn’t get any extension for my last 2 mbp, manufacturer defects would have been detected within first few months of use, having 1 year is more than enough for me…

When your MacBook died? After 1 years use?

Yes worried the same too, I think for extra 900 for extended warranty should be sufficient. plus like you said everything is soldered to the board.
Can tell us more what happened? did you managed to get it fixed/replacement? did they charged you anything?

for me though I’ll be using it day to night, unless I’m so unlucky the manufacture defect happen after a year, otherwise I would have identified it within the warranty period..touch wood though, it has never happened to me before in any of my apple purchase that the defect happen after a year..smile.gif

Yeah man. It's been 'soon' since many weeks. But it's now week 4 after the announcement. I wonder if it's imminent. Will drop whatever I'm doing to preorder/order or head to a store lol

Ughh quite a number of reviews on the 14" Max which isn't that good... Noisy fans, throttled performance compared to the 16" with same specs and worse battery performance..
Looks like M1 pro is better suited for the 14" more while Max better suited for 16"...

Ya I saw plenty of reviews too, on one of the video, the m1 max in 14 are throttled by wattage to avoid overheating. although Apple does that, the performance still par with the 16 m1 max. this kinda interesting.

Really? The review I saw the performance is below the 16" from 10% - 30%+

Interesting indeed, so 14 max is on par with 16 max in terms of performance? The price isn’t close though..

Covered. But you will have to call Apple to get them to authorize before making an appointment and sending it to AASP here.

I had my Ipad applecare+ purchased overseas in 2018, and I try last year claiming warranty but they didn't allow, even apple CS says must bring back to countries with such services, AASP here wouldn't recognise it apparently sweat.gif

Hope it is not a hardware problem. Anyway, main reason while I would rather wait for M2.
