Mean chances are high if I pre order it right, they will just extend the two year contract?

Tried my luck last year but they won’t allow...they will only ‘do something to help’ if you have within a month contract left...anything longer than that they will ask you to pay the remaining penalty before starting a new contract..at least that’s my experience....however if you are trying to grab other lower end phones then you may have a chance...if it’s latest iPhone then tough luck..

If you left one year contract, probably you need pay penalty to terminate previous contract before you can buy iPhone 13

Guys, i just realized that there is a diff between "made for magsafe" and "magsafe compatible" accessories. I saw that mous casing only say magsafe compatible, and at belikin website, it says that magsafe compatible can only charge at 7.5w instead of 15w. Just want to confirm this is the case for iphone 12 series or not..

no.. i just walk into maxis centre ytd... you will need to pay the penalty...
it's make sense though..else is going be like 1 year contract and they will lose out profit..

the earliest recontract without penalty is 1 month.
my contract end 12 nov.. i can recontract earliest 12 oct.. i not even allow to preorder..
not sure there will be any special handle case for me since im gg to recontract again and the date are quite near.. no shop manager on sunday not able to ask for this..

for case there is not issue.. those casing just additional magnet coil to make the connection stronger....
for charger yes... you need those magsafe compatible( so far right now only apple original magsafe and some belkin) all others are qi wireless charging 7.5w/10w

Well yes, that’s why they call it 24 months....to add on, the penalty is ‘huge’....for 1 year I think penalty could be around 1400-1800 depending on your package...

Lucky you they still willing to waive off even 30 days...last year they won’t even waive the 14 remaining days I had...they insisted to pay the penalty the manager told me as long as you’re going for the latest iPhone then nothing is negotiable...other phones they can still look into it..could be my luck though..

eh i think just that shop dont wan to do for u.. u should walk in to another maxis centre.. before i walk into i called maxis the cs confirm that 1 month early recontract is in their tnc.. not special case... i purposely walk in to ask for 1month+ kind...

anyway if they dont allow, i going to buy the phone and cancel the plan after contract ends... since now wfh... my data left 58gb which going to expire in 3 days... just switch to some prepaid plan

Never trust what maxis cs from 123 say..they always contradict with walk in centres, had a few arguments with them previously even for home fibre etc...they will tai chi the blame to 123 and say next time if want to confirm something, always go to walk in centre to clarify bla bla bla

for 1 year remaining contract it wont be 1400-1800 penalty, if one year penalty is 1400, then the device subsidy have to be 2800 - 3600 for 24months contract
because the maximum device subsidize for 512GB wont be more than RM2000 even it is MOP188 24months contract

There is a formula to calculate penalty as below:- Maxis Contract T&C
[(Recommended Retail Price (RRP) – Upfront Cost) x (Remaining month(s) ÷ 24 months)] *upfront can be include advance payment, certain loyal customer not paying any advance so can add 0

Let say MOP128 and iPhone 12 Pro 256GB 24 months
Device RRP => 5399, Maxis Subsidize 1413
If terminate after 12 months, remaining contract 12 months
(5399 - 3986) x (12 / 24) = 706.50

I twitter message maxis last week, my iPhone 11 Pro contract remaining 14 days out of two years which is 14 / 730 days, they reply me penalty is RM27.xx
Device RRP => 5599, Maxis Subsidize 1413
(5599 - 4186) x (14 / 730) = RM27.xx

last time maxis contract early termination have RM100 admin fees, but i cannot find it in the T&C page, maybe no longer applicable
most telcos use similar formula... just whether they charge admin fees or not...

even left 30days or 1month and you want to terminate, it is still WORTH, because you only pay back the penalty as you didnt manage to finish serving your contract, you lose nothing since you already serve 23 months contract, you return the money for one month left telco subsidy **only if you plan to buy another new phone with another 24 months contract

many years i always terminate early for maxis contract, because for me one year maxis contract, one year i buy outright from Apple Online store...
for this year, due to iPhone 11 Pro launch early 27th Sep 2019, so my contract ends on 26 Sep 2021,
for iPhone 12 Pro i bought from Apple Online Store
for iPhone 13 Pro i wish to go with maxis contract, i no need pay any penalty since contract ends
for next year 2022 iPhone i will go back Apple Online Store
for year 2023 iPhone if come out early than 8 Oct in Malaysia, I will fork out a bit on penalty again

My contract ends on 5th October but the pre-order is 1st October.. I’m gonna walk into a maxis centre this weekend to enquire if I need to pay off the penalty or if they can waive it, hahaha… wish me luck!

Ya, bit surprising that the regular 13 has a bigger battery than the 13 Pro, but Apple claims the 13 Pro will give users more mileage. We’ll have to wait and see on this one.

yea sure.. i can charge through with some clear case that dont even have the magnet ring before my leather case arrived... and from the article they mentioned same like what i told previous..
only the chargers matters...
