The ceiling one I can look past it.... since you are not really gonna poke it everyday like that. But the door panel is kinda unacceptable for a car in this price range. Hope you all agree with me....

If you have not purchased the new car and still thinking, why not go and check out other cars within the budget and see if it’s the same, worse or better?

Tbh Im not too bothered or I have already accepted the fact that the door cards are very flimsy haha.
*
Mazda 3 definitely doesn't have this issue.... havent checked out the Corolla yet

But that's not my point. Thing is my current 50k A segment car doesn't even have this issue! If I'm spending 3x on an upgrade I would expect at least similar if not better build quality

But anyway seems like a lemon unit. I will double check again when I drop by the showroom again soon

CBU... but you pay CBU price.

Also, lower owner and/or sales, less issue should be norm?

Your A is what, Picanto? Same also cold door car? But is CKD IINM? Or CBU? either way, my point is that not every Civic faced that issue, and if you're still worried, there are (or actually not really, depending on your criteria) other options.

I can say build quality is there, because I don't have those issue, so would you think it is subjective feedback? Your money your judgement.
*
SKD... no longer allowed under the new NAP

Anyway I agree overall Civic FE is still an improvement over FC quality wise as I've personally inspected and drove it

Still my stand is.... there's bound to be expectations when you're spending a certain amount of money, and I can understand the frustration and disappointment of those with such issues. Warranty is there yes, but everyone would be happier if there's no need to claim in the first place

Sedan Civic RS e:HEV officially revealed in Thailand

*replace pauline keyword*/2022/03/25/2022-honda-civic-ehev-hybrid-revealed-for-thailand-asean-gets-sedan-with-same-2-0l-di-rm144k-rm159k/

Some observation on the exterior... 1 exhaust only instead of dual like the 1.5T units currently.

Will be launching officially over there on June. Guess will arrive our shore around end of year or Q1 2023 if HM decides to bring this in? Hopefully they are reserving the full digital driver display for it

Not sure if they are ready to CKD this though, since its a different hybrid unit than the one in City RS. Gonna be very expensive if they CBU from Thai

Ppl always say that same engine with accord. Means can tune until same power
*
Make sense... accord 1.5T is 260nm only

Anything more than that probably pushing reliability off the cliff already

Bugger! I just got my number last week.

But don't think will be cheap for this series tho, don't think I will get the same price for the same number I won.
*
I bought my FB plate on 2018 from mySikap... paid normal price

As long your number is not popular number it should be the same as any normal number plate

Just dropping by to share something, maybe irrelevant or just empty talk by SA as usual

So yesterday I dropped by Honda showroom at old klang road since my gf is interested in City hatchback. I took the chance to ask the SA regarding the launch of Civic e:HEV as well since that's the spec I'm interested in and hope they finally spec in the 10.25 inch digital cluster

He claims Honda Msia do have plans to launch it, but probably not this year as the only planned launches left for this year is HRV and BRV

Sharing some interesting mods/accessories I found from China Taobao for Civic FE, maybe some of you will be interested. Most are just plug and play. Unfortunately only found in Taobao at the moment, maybe some local sellers will start bringing them in soon. Links best viewed using desktop browser, mobile might force you to login

Plug and play interior ambient lighting (replaces the gloss black trim on the door)

RS for HRV confirmed will be hybrid. I got the feeling that Civic’s top end RS will be Hybrid soon too, following what Thailand is doing.

We may see it earliest by Q1 or Q2 next year, since Thailand is getting theirs next month. Dont think HM got slot for another launch after HRV and BRV unless they do a surprise launch end of this year. Or maybe they will just do a soft launch like spec update

Also there's a lot of uncertainties in our local car market currently, with the inclusion of SST soon and the rumoured price hike for CKD cars. HM have to be careful to price the hybrid RS.... eventually it may lead to undesirable pricing or just spec cutting as usual

*edit add my question
Me: "Really? V-Sensing not affected?"

SA replied
#1 "V Sen tak kena"
#2 "Just a delay. Will provide a new date at a later time."
*
i would've thought V sensing models would be most affected assuming the production issue currently is affected by the chip shortages reported in pauline tan 2 days ago

See a lot comments said honda now overprice la, waiting period long la, better go for mazda CX5 or other competitors etc. But still the booking number and the sales outnumber the competitors in Malaysia market. Wonder why Malaysian so fancy on honda malaysia. Honda car sales are really bad in Japan itself if compete with Toyota, Mazda and etc.
*
because for the spec and price given, Honda in Msia is a no brainer for the average consumer. Just like X50

of course if you would to look more comprehensively, there's more things to consider like built quality, after sales, driving feel etc

but ultimately most consumers here want bang for buck, they dont care about the rest. (and oh there's RV and branding also tongue.gif)

Personally for me if I'm already driving a C segment Jap car, i will continue driving it until its no longer viable as my next upgrade target would be a conti eg: C class, 3 series or premium Jap like Lexus. Furthermore yours is only 5 years old

But that's just me. You have your own way of spending money smile.gif

Absolutely! Wished they gave the digital dash on RS. Was back and forth too about the RS and V but ended up with the RS cause that's only one they had at the time lol.
*
They are probably reserving the digital dash for the eHEV RS which will most likely arrive next year.... I hope

Just did first 1000 service, requested engine oil change.

Time to tekan 🫢

And next service is 6 months or 10000km, SC says the next service is not 6 months from today oil change, but 6 months from the day I get my car which is June 28
*
wait how does that work?

what if i take like 4 - 5 months to reach 1000km? then 1 more month i need to go back service again?

unless the first service is 1000km km OR first month, which make more sense. but still they should've followed from the date you changed the oil

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jul 29 2022, 06:08 PM)
Service is always mileage or time, whichever first.

What Honda Malaysia is now weaseling, not sure if it's a global thing or just Honda Malaysia, is that the time is now based on the time of the vehicle delivery instead of the last service

Example, you collected car on January
Your 1 month first service is February
By right, second service after 6 months (or 10k km) is August
However now Honda Malaysia want you to do July.

IINM it is just the first few service only that they want you to service earlier instead of going on the normal schedules immediately

=Edit=
I understood your example
However I'll point it out anyways that it is invalid since it is 1k km or 1 month whichever first. So like my case, only 300km, after a month I'll need to service regardless of my low mileage
*
then that is still OK

but better hope they are using some good oil from the factory biggrin.gif

This is the oil , I chose 0-20 because my mileage traveling is very low. Town drive only

Notice there’s drum oil price and bottle price, I was charged bottle price
*
Ah manufacturer branded oil again.... not sure OEM from which brand

Maybe its just me but I always prefer using branded oils such as Mobil, Liqui Moly, Total etc. The specifications and quality measurements are all out there for you to decide

But then I dont want to pretend I know more than Honda so if Honda say its good then its probably good enough biggrin.gif
