ahh i understand liao..  icon_rolleyes.gif
thank you!!! hehehe officially my 3rd car nia.
first time to experience this kind of situation.

will go ahead if less than myr 150K coz i'm also left with either FE or Corolla.
Ketam had been my dream car but sadly i missed the boat  sad.gif
*
I see, well congrats to you and hope you get your new care soon.

I too loved the ketam, and I didn't miss out on it, I purposely skipped it because only the top TCP at 139k had ADAS. I wanted to get ADAS for 120k especially when I realised the FE will have across all models by the time I finished saving my pennies. Not to mention, one thing I don't like about honda sensing is you have to enable it manually everytime you start the car. At least that's what I was told by the dealer/sales.

Alas, it may not turn out to be true (we are all agreed the new Civic will be more expensive) and if thats the case I think I will take my pennies elsewhere.

honda sensing should be auto all the time  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif

unless u are saying the adaptive cruise control ? that one need manually activating
*
In the CRV and FC civic, both times in the 20s salesman briefing before I drive, they say need to enable cruise control for all other things to work. I haven’t read the manual if there is one so i thought this is kinda self defeating….but honestly I not sure how it properly works.

I’ll be happy to buy the V spec at rm12xk….but if I am forced to spend rm13xk for it I will either get the E for economy rice spec or just buy a used TCP 2020 edition for the gaya.

I saw the post, it claims someone called the Honda main phone hotline who says it will launch on 2nd week of January 2022. Nothing more.

There doesn’t seem to be many things to differentiate the specs if looking at this list

Saw from fe group

I was told by a SA that HM claim the honda sensing is not available on E spec in her training. I don’t believe her that time, seems like what she claim is true if this’s legit 🤣
*
I will be surprised if Malaysia ends up with the only Civic that does not have sensing. And that with a CKD assembly plant for the model.

Even though my CRV salesman say the same thing too, while another one say got.

All this rumours and misinformation is not helpful

I'm not sure how 4 speakers and 8 speakers are the bomb or value, because a simple tweeter with cost of RM3 can be called a speaker. I also have 6in drivers that alone cost RM2k-4k. Both are "1 speaker"

I work in relevant industry, I have 2 speaker systems that can kill your ears or make you melt with great music at 1m listening distance. So, for me, the number of speakers is really a specmanship thing that is irrelevant....

thats aftermarket story
but in this civic case
4 speaker meant no tweeter
so poorer high note je  brows.gif

high spec 8 speaker also is a combo of 4 tweeter with 4 regular speaker nia
*
exactly, so a "8" speaker system from whatever high end system may only have 4 extra tweeters.

Not sure what is the end result you want to achieve there, if you are already satisfied with what you have?

packed with Cross Hybrid, City Hatchback and Civic launch. Busy time early this year.
Did ask, he said don't think got test drive until closer to CNY.
I drove my MIL Corolla Cross - nice car, but totally different from Civic. If Corolla Cross vs HRV, definitely the Cross. If you have problems entering/exiting the current Civic, also the Cross is better. But performance / handling, Civic wins hands down. One thing I miss / don't like about the Cross is the Apple Carplay implementation is terrible - no integration with steering controls and stupid USB location, as well as there is no brake hold.
*
What do you think about passenger space especially width at back seat between civic and Corolla cross?
Performance wise,
If you see the acceleration figures from cross hybrid vs civic actually from 0-60km/h about the same….. I think perhaps that’s all a regular person really needs, which is to accelerate from standstill. To escape from the junction etc.

Once reach 80+ cruising I think not much need for me to get to 110kmh in a hurry. (I am uncle with kids and vege in my boot).

Lastly both comfortable or not ah?

Even though I have no plans for the high spec 10” display, I also feel sad that it’s not offered. It does add driving value if you see what it can display vs the 7in.

I think we can start the tikam session since there is only 24hrs to launch.

My guess is
S - 120k
V - 135k
RS - 145k

think i'm just gonna test drive and hold back my purchase. the lack of that 10" cluster is a dealbreaker for me especially in the RS spec

also waiting for MK8 Golf R Line 1.4 TSI. Rumoured price is around 130 - 140k+ also

my C segment upgrade shortlist

- FE Civic RS
- Mazda 3 2.0 H+
- Mk8 Golf 1.4 TSI R line

Corolla is out because I really can't accept that interior
*
QUOTE(hot_hunt @ Jan 12 2022, 03:45 PM)
Same, cant accept corolla interior..
Golf price maybe very competitive but lack of all safety features..but still a nice car to drive
mazda 3 liftback is sexy & nice if you no concern about space
*
If RS is priced at Mazda 3 2.0H+ levels, I think not so fair to compare to 13xk Altis.
And in my mind I think that 15-19k spared is really a handy sum if someone does end up with the Altis.
RM15xk is really just 1 more top up a bit from CRV.....

So yeah, personally for me, the Mazda 3 is completely priced at the wrong market (not for me).

I'm ready to retrofit those safety features myself if I end up getting the Golf (found a few shops that does this with original VW parts). but it really boils down to how much they price the Golf, 120 - 130k is the sweet spot, otherwise I'll wait till year end for deals. I also believe its gonna be easier to get higher discounts for VW (since its considered a 'cold' brand) compared to Honda or Mazda. My only concern for the Golf is the usability of all those touch controls in the interior... this one have to try out myself

For Mazda 3, its expensive and honestly other than the overall design and interior quality, nothing to shout about for me. I guess I like it because its the only choice (other than the Golf) to still have a conventional AT rather than CVT
Well I'm looking at segment rather than price...so yeah my range is 130 - 150k+. And personally I don't really want a crossover or SUV so naturally the choice is limited to the few sedans/hatchbacks
*
you are definitely free to spend your RM150k however you see fit, go ahead and make your best informed decision.
Usually spend more is less prone to regret than spend less. (if you can already afford it).

more like spend more but have to make sure its well spent. have to pray not ending up getting a lemon biggrin.gif

if space is no concern, I think Mazda 3 2.0 H+ will be fine. Either way even the RS is going to be very hard to regret.

I just see that Mazda 3 has a round LCD display in the middle only...what so bad with a 7in rectangular display on the RS compared to it?

I will not touch a VW with 40foot pole. You retrofit some crap into a VW, say goodbye to already fragile and weak warranty. I'm pretty certain your entire warranty will void if you fit in anything that can adjust throttle and steering outside of factory.

because when it comes to buying cars, I find it very hard to accept lower spec parts if something better is supposedly available, that's just me. I'm someone who is willing to pay for more, just give me the damm option. And this is also just my opinion, the meter and LCD in the Mazda 3 was well designed and integrated. The lower spec display in the Civic is not biggrin.gif instantly looks like a lower spec option already compared to the full digital one

I was not gonna consider VW at all until they mention the new golf will come with 8 speed AT from Aisin instead of a DSG. But still if I were to get it I prolly will opt for pre reg or year end discounts. Also reliability issues and so on, I'm going to gather opinions from owner group first rather than hearsay on internet

Anyway a car is more than a A to B tool for me, so in the end I have to test them all to see which one I like spending time in the most
*
Well, the Mazda could have come with a 2.5L engine too if compared to what others get for the same money as a RS in other countries...........or a 2.5 Turbo but you can't pay for either even if you have money.

Doing business with Vincent Tan in Malaysia is WAYYYYYY worse than with Honda or UMW Toyota. Look at how he crippled CX-5 in safety.
