white is superb, except I am a guy who dont wash car or take car of it. Pretty sure after 6 months love affair my wife will wash the car.

I will also likely ding and scratch the car mildly, I think in Penang its kinda hard to avoid that.

So white for the gaya, silver for the low maintenance...see who comes out of the factory first haha.
Red is too damn sexy for me. I don't wanna go back kampung this time and get an earful from my mom and dad who believe I should be driving a kancil till I die (they are)...

the best one is the one you can spend the most of your money on. after that you won't regret aiyah why didnt I add more etc. You can safely say, no more liao end of story. even if you bought the RS, who's to say if you actually had money for a better car? And if you did wouldnt you be banging walls if the RS didnt meet all your needs and wants?

oh... but no offend, choose V spec would be better choice  smile.gif

i am not offended, everyone has different view points and pocket depths! spend what you can and get what you want. if there is only 1 correct version then no one will buy mazda or toyota or myvi or mercedes or bmw.

|Civic E | RM 125,634.64|
Civic V RM 138,043.36
Civic RS RM 144,350.09
COROLLA 1.8G RM 134,505.00
COROLLA 1.8E RM 123,971.50

huge toss up imho

Civic
pros
new global platform
euro conti like interiors
1.5L improved (not all new) L15B7 engine with actual VTEC Lift on exhaust for this version on the FE Civic (year 2015)
Honda Sensing comes standard to easily justify that 10k over Altis
Cons
E spec is a lot of cutting corners to really squeeze that pricing and margins
Honda after sales leaves a lot to be desired
Corolla Altis
pros
Toyota reliability and after sales
competitive pricing
Cons
OMFG dated 2007 - 2016 or 2017 engine / drive train (dynamic force WHERE?!)
CBU thailand not Japan imho is just abang adik than CKD here and imho, just blindly paying tax just cuz CBU

let me shake the trend a bit from Mazda 3 owners justifying their purchase > I am a (future) "co" (wife) owner (or more like, ahmad/driver) justifying wife's purchase laugh.gif
I am someone who's into tech and innovation and most of all, appreciates driving pleasure and enjoyment.
And with that, the Civic vs Altis base to base specs imho Civic is a clear winner here.

thanks for reminding me that i've been kaypoh-ing here since Nov 21. I was ding dong-ing between this car, tcp 1.5 FC, altis 1.8G, and corolla cross.

Now, yes with the pricing no longer a mystery, i also agree that base spec civic wins if you only look at what you get physically. long term cost of ownership, reliability, and any potential inconvenience aside.

i'm still a little sour that Honda increased the price so much from my initial budget of 110-115k. In a way i wouldn't even mind if we have a FE with 1.8 NA, sensing at 115k. I would still gladly buy it. Although, at 125k, then if you compared to the old TC you are getting the sensing stuff which is not bad (at the price of some creature comforts being taken out).

All i am sure is that many people will die less and get injured less in FE than FC. its a great price to pay.

so base spec it is (for me)

My inner boy sank when seeing those MC5’s but after a while my retirement account was pretty happy haha.

All in all half the price of the R18 PS4’s

outside aftermarket many better price vs performance options lol
I'm on the 70Mai A800 / first original model (i think now is called 1s / facelifted into additional colors) and both have been performing splendidly without issues.
*
Outside aftermarket, do you know how the installer will dig the panels or covers and embed the wires?

Will it be same as how the OEM version installs?

i believe its very straight forward panel removal via those soft plastic tools/pry bars

or they can just stuff the wire in gaps of panels without even any removing.
the HRV was most challenging to fit the rear camera because of the hatch design, we had to remove many panels to access the rear wiring weather proofed grommet to have the camera wired to the rear hatch windscreen.

Sedan/Coupe without this issue, waaaay easier.

yes both cars we DIY/DIT (together) our dashcams lol
*
Do you tap fuse box or just the 12V cigarette lighter port?

I am a hard core diy er but my nagging wife can kill me sometimes with her what ifs on warranty etc

more concern on the center, insulation materials below the roof. Accord G9 had very minor insulation materials, hence it make the roof sound like a Viva car in heavy rain. Outside shops suggest adding insulation materials there on the roof, due to lack of it

i see those foam injection things are very popular....have you considered?

almost consider, but due to price, RM700 for the roof only and need to dismantle the whole roof area, foresee later different rattling sound. live with that until now.
*
yikes, tbh i driving a peugeot now, I have 1 item in the suspension rattling, but rain has never been an issue, in fact NVH is great in my tiny peugeot. Wonder how it will be with FE. I hope I'm not disappointed, not to mention ppl are like comparing this to BMW lol!!!!!

So according to this review, the power at the wheels (not counting weight gains) has actually reduced between 10th Gen and 11th Gen, and he suspects "anti pollution / emission controls" addition...I think.

I'm a banana, so I can only guess half and half.

It would make sense, not to forget the weight gains.

It is really a good and thorough comparisons that I think even the American channels lack.

I dont know, but i am not being notified anything about E availability even though I'm ok for either white and silver.

I'm pretty sure those with "existing stock" are loan KO.

Yea. Was under impression insurance premium can't be part of the hire purchase loan. Apparently, application through dealer lumped it in.

took my car last saturday - v spec

feels really good inside and have the premium feel. quiet and composed.

the 7 inch dash cluster is rather odd though
*
I'm sure you will get a lot of looks on the road!

Can you check if there is any simple nearby plug in for USB power for the Dash cam in front and rear?
Or do we have to really tap the fuse box or use the cigarette lighter port?

there are 2 USB port in front - 1 with data, 1 without, plus the cigarette port so you can always convert that for additional USB power port.

rear however... anyway gotta pull from the front cam to the back isn't it? i'm looking at 70mai.
not very familiar with prior car but it feels more 'buttery'. in terms of NVH i guess the soft touch materials help to make it less rattle-ish
*
Proton X70 has a usb A power at the dashcam / rear view mirror box, so that you can install dashcam easily. I was wondering since Honda has front and back recommended cams, perhaps they also can access this port for easy install and sell to customer. If yes we can profit haha.
If no, then it will be another adventure to route cables, if you win that race take some pictures for us as a guide !

I am also looking at 70mai with front and rear.

If you going 70Mai A800, seriously no need worry. It's really simple and only need one USB port don't care from car or from cigarette port unless you smoker and you must use that port port for your ciggies.
*
Thanks. So I saw some YouTube and it seems only 1 USB port needed for the front cam and then rear cam directly connects to front cam for power piggyback.

I feel more confident I can do this by myself now.
