Engine is a different story, can be few ten thousands of difference there

But that 10" cluster..... how much difference its gonna make? Also the fact that we are the only region in SEA to not get that in the RS spec just made me more sour

Ok I should stop here before I'm starting to sound too petty for a 10" screen biggrin.gif
*
in the end, you get exactly what you paid for, so make the right choice that gives you joy. No perfect thing in this world, especially not in Malaysia.

If factory can provide upgrade path, I honestly may go for the 10in cluster. I really like the fact that you can get turn by turn guidance and the car detected ahead navigation.

guys guys, sorry for interrupt ya
actually does the 10.2 digital really that bother the vision or interior?
i saw alot lot lot ppl complaining for it, is that due to the price should have the digital meter or?

For me it does not bother too much or actually i love that half digital due to i saw the other 10.2 digital meter are look like slight low resolution and... how to say.. fragile? tsk not good in describe...
at least the half digital still looks good like normal as we used on current vehicles...

by the way i can understand most ppl would desire to get more since money paid lah,
wireless charges... not really useful i guess..
honda keyless card... how often bringing a thick card as key and i worry ease to lost it LOL
10.2 digital.... well, own preference i guess, maybe i am still live in old gen...hahaha

Actually those who are "disappointed" are those who have the money to pay for everything - RS stands for full buffet for them, so in a sense Honda Malaysia has underestimated their ability to pay. Especially with respect to comparing to Mazda 3 or some "premium" Japanese brands. Imagine you go to a buffet, and then they you no more snow crabs or something. Some thinks ok, lets enjoy the rest of the food, some say screw you I'm not coming in / going elsewhere.

But, in the end, Honda XYZ exists for profit, and they think probably they will sell more / profit more with 7in cluster rather than 10.2'.

And similarly for the buffet analogy, the customer goes elsewhere, do they get what they want for the price they will have to pay? Do you achieve win-win? So time will tell.

Especially as we don't even know (right now, 9am, 13 Jan2022) what's the final price gonna look like.

S- RM125,600
V- RM138,000
RS- RM144,350

Looks like Rm10k less than Mazda 3 and V is a much greater choice than Altis 1.8G...not bad what....

i happen to be 50m from a Honda showroom, wow the front passenger seat REALLY low.
Until my wife was like : really?
Driver seat can cheat a bit by using the seat height adjustment but front passenger really stuck low.

Even the rear passenger not so low man.

here is some food for discussion -
E spec - RM110k increase to Rm125k.
You get 1.5T engine, LED head lights, Sensing safety
Removed - Auto wipers, 4 speakers, powered seats

V vs TC RM125k increase to RM138k
You get - Sensing safety, 9in infotainment (Nah, here you go all LCD screen size lovers)

RS to TCP - RM139k increase to RM144k
You get - All sorts of look fast kit? edit - (9in infotainment)
Removed - dual zone AC.

So I guess people are not so happy they are charged roughly RM10k for the Sensing stuff, and maybe RM3-5k for inflation?

I held out some hope that Sensing would be a free upgrade but it does NOT look like it.

For 125K, what car would you rather have that has ADAS and L2? I'd like to hear your opinions, and hopefully back it up with some points.

X50? X70? Vios / City?
Is there anything else?

Lets hear it.

One thing - Take it from a engineer that deals a lot with portable batteries for communication devices - DONT USE WIRELESS CHARGING if you want your phone to last above 1.5 years.

I challenge anyone who regularly wireless charge the battery and phone lasted 2 years or more. Of course when I say last, I mean the battery did not degrade <80%.

Yes can. I also added on Trunk Tray & Illuminated Side step. My SA handling it.
Not sure, but I was offered 2.11% for 105k + 7 years from Affin.

Also - I went to see the car in person today. Just had a look, no test drive. So comparing it with my 2016 FC (launch unit too)

1. The rear side passenger has the biggest upgrade IMHO. If you had sat at the rear in the FC, it’s seating is really “deep” as in you were seating quite a bit behind the door opening. It’s a bit difficult to enter or exit. FE fixed that and has a more normal rear seating position.

2. Engine bay for the FE is much more roomier. You can see the extra crumple zones and more breathing room compared to FC. Open up the engine bay, and it’s immediately noticeable.

3. The new seats with “leather like fabric” on the FE compared to full leather on the FC feels like a downgrade. But in terms of comfort, maybe FE has the slight edge. Seat height is the same with the FC - pretty sure when people say FE seating is low, they never had a seat in the FC.

4. Drive view is much better on FE - mind you this is not on the road but in the showroom. Feel like the A pillar blindspot is much more minimal in the FE compared to FC.

5. The buttons on steering wheel functions similarly to the FC. In fact, I like the layout on the new FE better with proper single buttons on the FC for volume up/down. Not sure if there is a quick mute function similar to FC (swiping down quickly on volume).

6. The floor lights and red lighting accents are very subtle, but appreciated. Feel like the cabin lights are also better in illuminating the cabin.

can i ask, any particular technical reason why you are changing car from the 2016 Civic to 2022?

QUOTE(Jane's @ Jan 14 2022, 09:59 PM)
Things i gathered that Honda Msia has decided to omit from the local Civic FE (for even the highest RS variant) but is available to be spec-ed for the Civic include:

1. Smart key card
2. Dual climate control
3. Bose sound system
4. Sunroof
5. Wireless charger
6. Full digital meter cluster

Things that make our market's Civic unique:
1. Highest engine output in the region

Things i kinda wish it had but is not found on the Civic FE worldwide:
1. 360 view
2. All 4 windows auto up/down
3. Hands-free trunk operation
4. Blind spot monitoring instead of Lane Watch camera

Did i miss anything out?  Still, some features are really commendable such as the 18' rims with PS4, and the full Safety suite.

If can, I actually want the hatchback version.

Why do you even want to convert wired CP to wireless CP when the head unit already has wireless CP???? What's the point of doing so?
If you want to charge your phone and use CP, just plug it into the USB outlet that is for normal wired CP/AA and your CP/AA will still work as usual.

There is no perfect thing, especially with human invention.

If that is the ONLY thing away from “perfection” (personally to me there is still a few more things I would’ve liked) then perhaps it’s worthy of your money….🙂

No worries! biggrin.gif a car is still a car regardless of it’s spec.

Sadly I can’t find any links for Wireless and CarPlay. sad.gif but to mod for wired AA got lah, but already got wired AA/CP in E spec.

Try rebudget and see if your budget allows V spec. Hope you can get wireless CP n V spec!

I was starting with 110k budget for the old 1.8S and now I feel, another 15k is worth it for the new E. if go another step up I think the difference is great enough to buy another small car.

Soo….I think I just be disciplined bah!

Btw can I get recommendation for DVR, is the factory package at RM1.1k worth it?

same bro, any news on the new HRV?
Wanted a new car soonest but considering civic low seat/ height position and Sarawak bad road condition..
*
We are usually 3-4 months behind Thai and not to mention HRV may or may not CKD so I also don’t know how to factor this into the equation.

In any case here are the pros and cons
1.5L Turbo is going to hold a lot more resale value over the eHEV. So if you regret in 3 years I think you only rugi 10k at most to swap to a HRV.

Sedan is still safer and more stable on the road.

You will get a bigger boot but less options without a flat fold rear seats.

The seating position of HRV is definitely great.

Yes the height will overcome poor roads a lot better.

Maybe in your case you can wait it out. For me in Penang less off roads but no less potholes.

If we do regret like hell I may trade in or buy another P2 ativa
