Yea, just wanna confirm on this because I saw that V spec user after installing spoiler the auto open boot won’t function anymore due to the extra weight added.

Just wonder if RS have this issue since they originally comes with the spoiler.

If you mean whether it comes with auto kick function to open like the CRV, then No

Err a piece of plastic shouldn't be too heavy to deter the damper functioning

I can't recall for RS at show room, maybe if I got go Honda I'll update, or wait other RS owners update here

I think you need to adjust /tweak the 2 metal bar that act as counter weight to accommodate the extra weight in order to have it act like auto open again.

From many Youtube Video, the RS boot with spoiler will open up nicely. Factory tune to support that extra weight.

Cheers

May I know what is the acceptable difference in km by SC to allow us doing both maintenance A & B together? Is there a written policy by HM or in the user manual?

No such thing as maintenance A and B together. Maintenance A is oil change only. Maintenance B is oil change + fuel filter change. But normally the SC would recommend to change fuel filter on A as well. It’s up to you as there is no danger to follow honda’s recommendation. Won’t void warranty despite what sc says.

If you meant the maintenance on other parts + oil change, the standard recommendation is to group the servicing within 3k km iirc. There isn’t anything put in writing though, and you are free to group or ungroup it - no issues on warranty as long as you don’t go over the mileage by too much (more than 3k km iinm). If you don’t group it, it simply means that you may visit the SC more often. Once to change oil, another to change parts.

Sorry for the confusion I meant the latter - oil change & other parts together. Thanks for clarification. Not sure if stuck in KL traffic 2 way for half an hour at least per trip on average every day can maintain the 3k km difference...anyway this is one of the downside of turbo engine in my view (need visit SC often) but the plus points of FE should overweight it I believe

By fuel filter, you meant oil filter? Fuel filter is like 100 or 200k km (can't remember manual)

Oil & fuel filter change is following the maintenance minder OR 6 months. The other parts servicing is following the 6months/10k interval.

If you already changed at 8k due to maintenance minder, no such thing as having to change again at 10k - i never heard of this before… if this happened, the sc tried to cheat you.

Maintenance minder is closely related to how is your driving pattern & condition. If you always get bad traffic jams, long warm up or cooldown the engine, idling while waiting for a long period of time, be prepared to change the oil at 4-6k km. Basically, engine is on but not moving anywhere will kill the oil life.

Since my FC days, my oil life is always between 9500-10k km. never below that. This continues to my current FE. Also, it helps that I live in JB and my normal daily commute has zero traffic.

I just remembered/realized something echoing the above and Honda civic FE oil life:

New VTEC turbo is on direct injection while the old 1.8/2.0 NA engines are still on MPI

fuel dilution (into oil) is an issue and lots of car idling/traffic jams will worsen this issue.

Hence now this totally made sense and I'm glad Honda is doing something to reduce its potential impact.
(It is in their interests also in reliability and less warranty claims , which also translates less cost and better customer satisfaction!)

I wonder if Mazda have an oil degradation reminder hmm.gif

Guys, those already have their Civic for some time, how’s the seat? On FB group, I see ppl start to complain that their butt is pain after a long drive. Especially V variant. Anyone can refute or back up the claim?

I haven't driven long distance to evaluate the fabric seats.

That too, I don't think I'm suitable to feedback as I'm used to harsher old semi bucket seats as daily driver and long distance (160+km *2 every week, almost RM1K on petrol bills monthly) for years before working from home started beginning of pandemic.
