is there any chance both the videos not using the same soundtrack?

Not all movies have 4K sources. New ones from Hollywood yes, Netflix also but I also watch Hongkie movies a lot. So I don’t want to discriminate 😂

Of course 4K is better that’s for sure. Maybe it’s just me 720p and 1080p looks about the same or it could just be my sitting distance and TV size makes it immaterial between the 2. If my TV bigger or if my sitting position is nearer I guess they make a difference

I don't think they will use different soundtrack. They only focus to promote 4k HDR picture quality better than 4k sdr. Never mention about the sound quality. This singer other song still using sdr only. I guess video bit-rate increase will affect sound quality indirectly. Any music video at youtube , if i change the resolution from highest 1080p to lower 480p . The sound quality also will become poorer than higher resolution

a lot of old popular english ones remastered to 4k.

chinese ones incl big hits, very rare.

ok something weird happen when I was trying to watch Shang chi on this new zidoo

tested last week with a surcode file, no audio from truehd
try switching to 5.1, crackling sound

delete file and tried with new file with 3 audio, truehd, dtshdma and 5.1
same issue pertain, both HD sound not working

check audio settings, tried other files, no issue
then I turn off the DV function, no conversion of video, as is

then everything back to normal

is this because of my chapalang hdmi cable or wat? bandwidth too high? stuck ?
connection is zidoo > soundbar > teebee

if the file is a DV one, possible it is acting up with yr zidoo.

try same title but HDR10 files, not DV, see if problem persist.

also try same HDR10 (not DV) with Q10pro, see what results.

my eqpt cannot handle DV, so i dun use them.

but for HDR10, all files with DD+, TrueHD, atmos, DTSX work well on Q10pro and Q30 - no complaints.

I hv not come across such issues with hdmi cable.

More likely the file was not well made, happens all the time.

Or something not right with player codec/firmware.

If the player codec and firmware been tested well, in market for some time, unlikely the problem.

File problem more likely.

I have tried 2 diff files, both has such issues if I play with DV engine

u had mentioned:

just check, 10 bit sdr file
then I turn off the DV function, no conversion of video, as is

think it just mean the the module to convert from non-DV to DV isn't working well.

probably more so if u try SDR->DV which is like HDR12.

can try HDR10->DV, see it it works better.

i wud think it's asking too much to try to get DV with SDR videos... like upscaling 720p to 2160p, can't be good.

I havent try Shang Chi....

So far the rest of file no issue on my zidoo, most of my 1080p able to convert by VS10 to DV.... previously stuttering due to bug in firmware when play through NAS.

Which firmware version u r using now?

which option u chose? all to DV? or only HDR, sdr, 8 bit 10 bit to DV

I'm using the last 2nd option. So far tested Shang Chi no issue.... but dont know is it coz mkv file, the sound seem not impressive.....

I think got a lot of complains on Shang chi audio

only 2.1 sounds ok I think hahaha

haha... i cant find the ahem version yet....

hmm... in fact i didnt really compare with Z10Pro, but with Z9X, I'm more towards the Z1000 pro due to the chassis design is similar to my previous DUNE HD Base 3.0 media player.
