how far is ur mlp to ur surround.. my front is ~3m away and the ceiling is about 12 feets

yep, for those distances, will not be easy to get good effect from front upfiring.

my small room ceiling is only 10ft high.

i am quite happy with my new AVR, Atmos... not too early to start planning for 4K Dolby Vision.

Hmm... I recently found the the BD menu issue seem happened when using poster wall, when I tried from the folder and select Bluray Menu, then no issue. Few of the movie got this problem, already using latest firmware....

Yes, I'm playback BDMV 2160 4K DV.... I can't see much differences, too lazy to play around the settings.... I'm output everything using the VS engine

VS10 engine... if it is good, it is supposed to upscale any non DV video to DV... so, over time, u may not notice diff anymore!?

when u purchased the z1000pro, did u consider the z10pro?

Yup..... but I like the poster wall... hahaa..... so I tend to use poster wall to start the movie. Unless the menu can't work, then i try play normal using poster wall as well. Initially when i got the device, i just use the folder to watch the movie, after play around with poster wall kind of like it.... at least the matching is easier... just sometime will map to wrong one.

The VS10 engine is converting even HDR10 to DV as well, if it is native DV movie content it will shown DV icon on top left, else it will shown VS10 with DV.

I didnt considered Z10pro instead, i was looking at Z9X, in fact i almost wan place order for tat, until i visit the shop n talk to the sales guy, then just pay extra for better player...... pray hard it can last like my DUNE player....

Now thinking whether to get some physical disc with 4k UHD player....

4k UHD/HDR10/HDR10+/DV disc player - this one, in the long run, will cost u 1.5 arm and 1.75 leg!

i paid enuf dues for my thousands of music CDs, hundreds of 1080p Bluray DVD.

Sill paying my dues for LP/vinyls...

better not touch these 4k discs yet...

haha.... yup I know....i also got quite a number of 1080P bluray bought from Amazon last time. and I got 2 full HD bluray player still running fine.

maybe shall wait for next year AV show..... see got cheap player or not....

after that nvr ending till now.....so far now denon is my 3rd amp, next amp maybe wanna try yamaha after 5 yrs later

I got the chance to see the different DV vs Hdr 10+ in My friend AV system. He use OPPO 205 BD player & Panasonic calibrated oled TV , Procella 5.4.2 atmos sound system. We are use the Alita: Battle Angel original UHD Bluray Disc . We all prefer Hdr 10 + than DV, Hdr 10+ picture more cinematic . We also notice even using same atmos english sound track. When we are switch to Hdr 10+ , Sound track become more dynamic than DV. May be DV need BD player more processing power so affect player sound output performance.
