Need help asap guys, tomorrow must use laptop for class and gaming. Im thinking to buy acer nitro 5 with 3060 and amd 5800h but many YouTuber not recommend it due to it have a lot of issues but it was the only laptop that cheap enough to have amd and 3060 in it. But many youtuber recommended the lenovo legion 5 pro but with 3070 is expensive but many ytber said legion is g.o.a.t of laptop. With 2k major differences between lenovo and acer is gsync and gpu, idk if gsync make any difference.
Acer nitro = rm 4.8k Legion pro 5 3070 = 6.8k Here’s the thing extra 2k for 4-7 extra fps to me is not worth it but my MAIN ISSUE issue which one will last long in term of not gpu but from cooling, screen, speakers and etc. Btw im using only microsoft office and my most demanding game is cod warzone |

QUOTE(Yourmotherisgreen @ Jan 2 2022, 11:01 AM) what's ur budget? None of gaming laptops can at least 7 years really because of how pc gaming industry works and how gaming laptop being built for mainstream consumers only. Want durability? Business laptops only (but cannot game ofc)if u need it tmr then can only buy from physical shop Flexible budget, but must have good reason. If you need number then, maybe 7k but at least 7 years durability. I got 2 shop right now for both laptops I mentioned above. Lowyat n kepong. Just get whichever cheaper but good enough. Of course if your budget really 7k then get whichever better like legion. But imo a bit overpriced if from retail. This post has been edited by MyProLife: Jan 2 2022, 12:27 PM |

I got 2 shop right now for both laptops I mentioned above. Lowyat n kepong. 7 years may be hard to push for, as gaming laptops generate enormous amount of heat and the chassis may not age well with that.Another thing is newer tech is (generally) always better than old tech; expect cheap midrange laptop 3-4 years down the line to be more powerful than your mid-high RM7k laptop today, while only costing 1/2 of that. IMO, both Nitro and Legion have their own worth. The former focus on been the cheapest in it's class, while the latter add some refinement (display, built etc, power/thermal limit etc) to a similar package to make them more worthy of their high price tags. Hello sifu,
Need a new laptop as my current one quite outdated and sometimes blue screen. Budget: Not more than RM5,000 Usage: Web browsing, Microsoft Office and some analytical tools like SPSS, Python, Mendeley etc. Not using for gaming but expected to at least have processor of i5 and ram of 8GB. So far looking at Dell Latitude 5420 but open for suggestions. Many thanks in advance Edit: open to long waiting time (6-10 weeks) This post has been edited by sang_kenari: Jan 3 2022, 09:15 PM |

But I do feel the high premium and steep price for going i5 and add to 2 years warranty (which should be the bare minimum for any laptops out there). But I totally won't suggest i3 version despite your overall lite usage, i5 is just so much more complete package and likely to age much better than the dual cores i3. Another issue is the dubbed waiting time is 8-10 weeks.... But a niche plus point of it is there is Thunderbolt4 support (which is typically very rare for sub-RM5k laptop), which should make it even a tad more future-proof than those without. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-ThinkB...p.533402.0.html ![]() |

all sifus,
appreciate your help here. I'm looking to buy a laptop almost immediately (in the next 2 - 3 days), can go collect at shop nearby (KL, lowyat or Cheras area). If no choice, can also buy online (ready stock) then wait for delivery (I assume within 1 week?). Budget: RM2.5k to RM3.5k Usage: MS office, surfing, NOT for gaming Spec: no special preference, but prefer to have a bigger screen (15' and above) with better resolution. thanks in advance |
