win11 24h2 crash excel 2016 in my company...

googled saw many same case... try many things cannot solve yet... adoi...

recent cleanups .. minus the 7GB ISO downloaded, got 52GB used ..

24H2 is just piece of crap .. what version of Office are you into? .. mine is fine Office 365 Enterprise with W11 PRO (23H2)

not all users can get 24H2 in their updates .. I didnt get it and Im happy to stay with 23H2, since there are many issues with 24H2 loitering around (trust me, Im on most Windows discussion forums) .. there are someways to solve your problem .. I've used 2016 Mondo, Office 2024 and Office 365 Enterprise, always keep your Office updated and as far as I aware, Excel workbook with data links will have this problem under 24H2 ..

make sure you have these installed;

- KB5002684
- KB5002686
- KB5002179
- K85052978
- KB5002687
- K85002688
Cumulative update for Win 11 24H2 x64 (KB5051987)


update your Office (from anywhere in Word, PowerPoint or Excel will do fine)




other methods;
- start Excel in safe-mode, disable ADDONS and restart normal
- (Review tab > Share Workbook > Allow changes by more than one user at the same time) which also requires disabling privacy for the workbook, too (File tab > Excel Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Privacy Options category > disable (clear the checkbox) Remove Personal Information From File Properties On Save)

- if your office force you still use 24H2, then get LibreOffice as it works nearly 100% as MS Office ..

we recently bought 50 new pc come with 24h2.
and only have office 2016 license to pair with. others office apps are ok. only excel problem.

btw i think its global issue....

sure give its a try and nothing harm, the troubleshooting methods taken from few sites where it seems overcoming the issues and Excel seems works fine .. I found 24H2 is no much different than 23H2, but my machines is lagging too much in 24H2, but in 23H2 its very fast and I'm comfortable using it on daily basis and Windows Updates as well, my machine is very low-end and doesnt actually comply with Windows 11 requirement ..

yes, I did find it as global issue and some guys out there managed to overcome for eg. in Spiceworks forum and Reddit with guidance on latest KB updates, seems its fixed .. personally I use Excel with heavy add-ons eg. Ablebits Ultimate, ASAP Utilities and Power-User

I was using Office 2019 until yesterday. No problems with 24H2.

i bought retail key like 2.59 dollars few years ago, now such deal doesn't exist anymore
