For streaming purpose - live tv channel/VOD (EV PAD). No Gaming. Location - Living Hall.
Any big difference (in real life) in between X80J and X90J - 55inch? |

QUOTE(kucingfight @ Sep 6 2021, 12:46 PM) I own the X80H 65" no regret at all. Was using a 47" Panasonic LED 3D TV before, got struck by lightning. Getting this Sony was quite a step up from that TV. The vibrant color reminded me of my previous Panasonic Plasma even though the Picture setting was always set on Standard mode with all the other modes on default. I didn't have to tweak any picture settings too. Although it's no where near OLED especially with the black level when you watch it in dark environment but I don't think it'll bother you much, I watch it in dark during the night and the greyish black reminds me of the big theatre's silver screens lol... another thing with TV is the contrast is quite striking. All this observation is based on SD materials (1080i mainly Astro) As for the HDR - watching the EUFA Cup & recent Olympics on the Astro's Ultra HD channel with the HLG mode activated was a pure joy to watch!! On the other hand watching content in Dolby Vision kinda shows up the IPS greyish black limitations but that's about it lahh... funnily this only happens on some content, especially Apple TV Plus shows. HDR is amazing as always. Watching HDR contents in this TV is pure joy! Another thing I notice is the blacks looks deeper as the TV gets used more and more, sometimes I check again the TV model if the vendors gave the X900H by mistake lol!!! I think it's the placebo effect haha.. The TV is in main hall and it is turned on for almost 18 hours a day!! So, as far as X80H is concerned, you can buy with confident. It's cheaper than the X80AJ to boot and not sure why, I prefer the Android TV interface on this TV than the new ones.. oh I own the X90J as well which is running on Google TV. Cheers! |

QUOTE(kawayura @ Sep 19 2021, 02:20 PM) Not at all . Z9D is much brighter and has best FALD in the industry even according to modern standard. A true testament of Sony 's dedication to picture quality . X90J is Sony's mid range TV , it merely has 24 FALD zones , which is insignificant compare to Z9D 's 500 + zones . Not to say X90J is bad but it would take a lot to dethrone a Legendary LCD model from Sony . The only upgrades I can think of is either you go for their OLED or if you insist to stick with LCD , those Samsung MiniLED are even brighter and packed with quantum dots colors . QUOTE(AstonCheah @ Sep 20 2021, 06:52 PM) I have seen them below 6k with cashbacks and free stuff during sales period .You can probably extort for further discount on 11/11 . Again , why wait when you can have the TV now ? It's not like you aren't going to get another 50 % discount from 6k . AstonCheah liked this post
