Dear Ed,

my iFonz working perfectly now, smooth and opens up fast! just wonder why and i begin to be able to reconfigure the icons etc etc, except trying to change the icon themselves; the original icons are not that great.

these koreans are getting great pal!!! many thanks.

about the S2P, S2V, i think i will like them after trying them out tmr.

cheers pal.

ps: just wonder where is DrWho these days? any tips DrWho?

I came across this problem with KS20 but I did not face it as I do not need a 'long' tone for my SMS. Some even face the problem of vibrating non-stop until it is soft-reset.

sorry for late reply..no big different in UI, my wm6.1 rom it was Tweak by ppl in xda-developer forum.but most of the applications is quite useful.

For those who ask why flashing this rom over their stock lg rom :
::More speed (thanks to lots of optimizations)
::More stability (thanks to latest available lg drivers)
::Less battery consumption (thanks to WM6.1)
::Bugs fixed (but some are still there)
::SDHC support

(grab from xda-developer forums)

Added on October 22, 2008, 7:57 amOkay, just found out something about alarm problems. Apparently, the NQ = Notification Queue needs to be cleaned. I did that using SKT, gosh, those stock unit without SKT will not be able to fix this issue, eh? DrWho, any comments?!

There three ways of rebooting our phones:
1. Soft Reset
2. Remove Battery and restart.
3. Hard Reset.

There is no way to launch the soft reset program when the phone hangs. Removing battery is the only way out. Since that did not work, Hard Reset maybe be the other alternative.

There is a program, CeRegEditor, which is to be installed at your PC for editing the registry in your device. It has a feature that can also Soft Reset your device from the PC. Since you are trying so hard not to Hard Reset you may wish to give this program a try before you do the unthinkable. cry.gif My view is that the chances of you rebooting your device successfully is very slim. Here is the site to download the program:

http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/

To avoid similar incident happening again, make it a habit of closing the programs not just minimizing them, at least once a day. WM only minimizes the program. Your device hang because there were too many programs running at the same time and taking up all the available memory resources. See my earlier post showing how to close the programs.

Best of Luck!

DrWho,

i truly agree with your comment about closing the programme. but sometimes my KS20 also hanged for using 3 to 4 (only) programmes. so unfair!!!

btw, i just found out that my OS is version 5.2 !!!! i wonder why is to not the vesion 6.0 ?? does it affect my device performance ( i think it does) ?

anyway that i can "switch" to version 6.0 like yours????

many thanks.

I have not experienced this before. I clean and quit programs at least once a day.

What makes you think your device is not operating on WM6? Do this to goto to the Engineering Menu to check.
Type
2676625720#. If you do not know what you are doing, I highly recommend that you do not press too many of the buttons in that menu.

WOW !!!! Ha Ha Ha ... these Koreans are hiding this 'beauty' somewhere, but DrWho found it. hu hu huh!!!

i found it: -

SW version = WM 6.0 - 5.2.1626

i claimed it was version 5.2 because the SK Tools named it as 5.2.

Now i feel more relaxed yeah.

thanks DrWho.

cheers, really cheers.

ps > i will not touch anything else in the engineering menu. i prefer to sleep well.

"I have not experienced this before. I clean and quit programs at least once a day."

Well, I soft-reset my KS20 at least once a day too but the registry of Notification Queue increases everyday. If I am not mistaken, 3 registries entry in NQ per day.

Go to SKT, select Notification Queue, mark "duplicates" and those can be cleaned.
