Yes, buy one and throw inside your car. No installation and installing stupid app are needed.

Is this even possible?

Because typical GPS remote sensing device require at least 2G signal like using your old dumbphone and transmit data.

So does this airTag work with similar concept?

If so, instant buy for me! thumbup.gif

AirTags do not have GPS, it uses crowd iPhone GPS via bluetooth to locate its location.

AirTags also uses UWB for precocious location.

Will buy one if i reach 60. tongue.gif

After viewing the hands-on on YT, AirTag seems better than Samsung implementation. Just the price though.

AirTag’s pricing is cheap after all comparing to competitors. Especially if you buy a pack of 4. Haha.

Ultra Wide Bandwidth? Effective range is up to 25 meters only.

So let say if my car is stolen and it’s 5km away, still this airTag wouldn’t be able to track my car last location? hmm.gif

I think this airTag is more like locating nearby items only

I think u did not read the details about how it works at all.

FindMy app can locate ur device no matter where it is. Same like ur iPhone, the U1 chip can do precision finding where you are really near to the air tag from ur iPhone.

If the AirTag more than your iphone Bluetooth range, it will auto connect to other people i-devices and this i-devices will update the AirTag location to Apple server, from that you able know location of you AirTag.

The hidden cost is buying the loop for it. But having massive iPhone (iPad) that can communicate and report back the device? That's massive advantage over competitors like Tile.

Apple Msia not having 4 in a pack? Very bad idea....

My only gripe about AirTags is the thickness of it, can't put into a wallet - which is so important to me.

Keys, perhaps so but man - a wallet version would've been perfect like Tiles.

the Tile version for wallet, is a non-replaceable battery so it's some challenges. But i'm thinking Apple will release more products tiers within AirTags. Even AirPod also have orig and Pro version.

Yup defo, that form factor you can fit in a replaceable battery. But still wishful thinking of a two tier version as well.

Plenty of cheap loop on Taobao. I am sure you can get it on Shopee as well.
