I think those who compare Samsung SmartTag and Apple AirTag, doesnt seem to realize how much smaller the AirTag is. I hope it will fit comfortably in a men's wallet

So one exciting thing about this AirTag is probably "how accurate" its going to identify its location. All Apple devices that passes by your AirTag will help mark location of your AirTag.

Guess this is similar to Samsung's but lets see

I doubt we can rely on our own iPhones to detect the AT, probably UWB band gives better signal than BT? idk
Instead we will leverage on the Apple network which is formed by other people's iPhones

actually i dun find the need for myself buying this yet. maybe wait for it to be officially out and see the reviews for any potential good use cases.

I just learn this, AT will only seek help from others Iphone when we set it to Lost Mode.
then, any nearest Iphone will notice it and send the information to the owner.

So most of the use case, we need to set it on Lost Mode to get AT location.

if not mistaken Samsung Smarttag+ only BT, Samsung Smarttag+ and Apple AirTag use UWB and BT, so only Smarttag+ is comparable with AirTag

Not only bluetooth, it also use UWB, UWB range is around 80m.

How does this work? Can I hide one in my car and track location in case it get's stolen?

Yes, buy one and throw inside your car. No installation and installing stupid app are needed.

You misunderstand how it works. All iPhones in the world running iOS14 will anonymously broadcast the location. As long as someone with iPhone is nearby your AT it will get posted to the cloud.

Not true as in some countries you need GPS log to claim tax relief. They verify number of km driven. Also the logs are for truck owners to see how long their drivers rest or whether their truck pumped petrol at incorrect location (don't remember the scam but drivers were stealing petrol)

This tag is just use for track where did you put your key. Sometimes I go out from house, the moment when I get into car, I was noticed that I forgot to bring my keys, alarm and autogate remote. So I go back into house to find, go to living room not found, go to dining room not found, finally I found it on the washing machine in kitchen.
