i think they made the 1,2,3 buttons to high up till the upper slide don't u think.. kinda hard to sms for big thumb users.

u can sure get the non ori casing later from the market mah. but ya...the os is a big turn off la.the thing is...this model is designed for music lovers who r not so much into os mah. if u r into os...go for Nseries lo. s60 3rd ed

hopefully this phone uses 2.5/3.5mm audio input...the back looked cool, does give the phone a 'rugged' look
this phone got what i was looking for, camera with af, music-based phone, and something which is not candy-bar anymore  hopefully the price won't be too high... |

I'm planning to get one too... depending on which is cheaper by next month - 6500 slide or 5610... since both are essentially the same phone. my current preference is towards 6500 for smaller size

first impression...for 5610.. the slider mechanism is good like the 5300.. the glossy front looks great.. the dpad is RUBBER, dont really like the feel of it, ( just like the n81 buttons) the send/end/softkeys are plastic..4 buttons combine with 1 plastic plate..good tactile feedback..but donno will break of not..hehe 5310.. good built quality..slim..love the dedicated music keys at the side.. nothing much to complain here..its all good..i think.. |

bought it yesterday the nokia 5610 rm1350, wow the slide is very good quality, on par with samsung slide...the screen is crisp and very nice...very solid phone....

I see...I knew about this there was no dedicated memory card cover on the phone so it had to be inside. its a good phone, but too bad, i'm not getting it. becos its a slide phone =.= why the hell all companies are creating slides!!! I was at queensbay mall (penang) yesterday and only 1 shop had both 5310 (1199) and 5610 (1399) -
Both models are really SLIM and light, i really love them but didnt buy because no promo! i feel the 5310 price is a bit on the high side when compared to SE W880 as both have almost same specs but SE has 3G. |

i already tested this phone,...taking a 3.2 megapixels photos....quite nice...however, the saving process is SLOW!!!!
this phone is better than many SE phone becoz of the "Video Recording" 640X480 resolution!!!!! even k810i only can shoot 176X144...which is cube cube video...><" beside that, i think the "slider" that helps to slide the page or as a shortcut key....i scared that will be loose when longer time using..... man this a great phone! ... However one does get slightly annoyed at times by the uncomfortable feeling keypad.
However I thought this is only a small blemish on an otherwise untarnished spread of features. One thing I found stupid about the earlier Xpress Music phones was that they produced very grainy photos. However having bought this phone ( cmon folks not that expensive- EST PRICE : EUR 300 I found that the 3.2 megapixel is simply wonderful, in my opinion it defeats all other 3.2 meg phones ( I tried Nokia N93i, N73 (ME), SE K800, SE K810 as well and found the photo quality inferior to what claims to be a music-oriented phone.) By the way, the only disappointment I found was the absence of a 3.5 mm audio jack, which appeared on its immediate predecessor but somehow not here. ( I was referring to the superslim 5310 XpressMusic.) I think this the third best Nokia phone ( superceded only by Nokia N95 and Nokia N95 8GB due to their GPS (but in any case seperate GPS modules can be cheaply purchased and synced by Bluetooth)) and may I once again reiterate the fact that it is quite cheap and I encourage people very strongly to consider buying it. ok, after days of playing with this cellphone which i bought last week, i gotta say this phone ain't gonna last long.
Design Impression from a distant, it looks good, for a while observation, it looks good, after spend saturday and sunday with it, it's an ugly fugly phone. overall, if have a glance on this phone, it's a beautifull phone. Accessories. i went to a few shop looking for pouches for this phone, 4 shops i wwent to, never heard of 5610 till i show them my phone...they are impress with nokia new design. Somehow, after searching thru, no pouches is fit for thise phone, those pouches is either too thick or too long. i ended up with a samsung pouches....arrgghhh!!!! The Slide. i am not impress at all cause i know after using this phone for 6 months, the slide will be loose. This is based on my experience with nokia first slide phone 6111. just less than a week, my slide is loose Buttons. the volume button is not responsive, i have to press it with my finger till the button bend in to get response. This is due to the flat design method for the phone, look nice but ain't pratical. the camera button felt horrible, it is so bumping and not solid at all, to autofocus it and to take a shot is very much incosistent due to pressing the button is too rubber feel. The slide button wear and tear test is not good too, i know somehow the slide button ain't gonna last long. just less than a week, my slide button is a bit loose. The LCD screen. It is ok, no comment, nothing so impressive about it. it is clear, crisp and there is nothing to scream about it. The Lights. Now this is the weirdest part. if the slide remain in the default position. no lights will appear for the arrow keys and soft keys. the light will only appear if i slide up the screen. damn weird!!! The Sound. whatever they claimed about the dedicated chip, it is pure BS, my dopod 838Pro produce better sound effect. The pitch is too high causing cracking effect on the speaker, the music clearity is not up to my expectation, my 3 years old SE K-600 produce better music compare to this 5610 model. and one last thing i need to mention is the open up the back cover to change the memory card is so pathetic, it is just not smooth to remove the cover and that cheap design is just so dissapointing. Conclusion: It is a very beautifull phone, but the price 1360 bucks ain't worth it. my mate Samsung U600 outperform this phone interm of build quality, sound, screen clearity and sliding wear and tear tolerance is much more better than 5610. end say. |

played with a 5610 blue today..
overall it looks good.. but the new "rocker" key in the middle feel a bit cheap.. and the whole phone is very plasticky especially the dpad area..4 buttons using 1 plastic plate..donno can last or not...the camera is just like the Lamour 7390 quality... |

ok i wanna add some more comments after playing with this phone. regarding the sounds, it ain't sounds good on speaker, this is i guess a nokia traditional issues with the cheap speakers, BUT it rocks when on earphone!! the audio widening makes it superb!!!
the battery life, i played entire album of green day collection, 23 songs, max volume on the nokia earpiece, the battery level from 100% drop to 40% and i say thats sucks cause this is suppose to be a walkman kindda phone and i should able to play music for at least half day and make calls, sms, net surfing for another half a day.....however, the battery really is a huge turn off. the backcover cannot cover properly, leaving the upper left edge a huge gap. bad design bad clips. i had tried numerous time to restore the phone, it takes me 3 tries to make the restoration successfull. anyhow, i think i am kindda in love with this phone, the mp3 playing quality is good. it is still a cheap budget mp3 phone with great design. i couldn't expect a perfect phone with perfect quality slide with 1.3k. good things ain't come cheap. some pictures:        |

for those wanna get it, i would like to remind ya all, this is not really a walkman phone or claim by nokia as music express phone or whatever....its gimmick...if you need a walkmen phone, get a Sony ericsson.....5610 is just a normal 3g phone rebranding as a walkmen phone.

You'll need to restart your phone to put another memory card in. it will not recognize the new memory stick.. Conclusion: If you are a user who just use it to call, message, video call, listen music and take normal photo, this is the phone for you! If you like to play alot with the function of the phone, just forget it. It is so damn diff to set and install stuff. I think s40 and s60 vastly puts 5610 and 5700 apart, respectively. AP and Ori price different is only less than RM50. Get ori la. My gf got it at RM1220 with 1GB memory stick. ive experience playback the music files with little cracking or poping sound without accessing the menu or gallery, but only noticeable with earphone/headphone playback. any other user have the same problem?

u can check the http://www.getjar.com/software/ for the software for s40 mobiles. u il get lots of applications... also check http://www.fonefolio.com/ as per the user maniual of fonefolio we can use it for accessing the microsoft office files like quickoffice(s60). but i hvent use it yet.. any one is using it???? |

agreed, realy a nice phone.. especially with music as its focus, someone should give a review how it sound through a good earphone..considering the dedicated audiochip n all... i own an n73 me, except for the speakers (could go very loud w/out cracking), the sounds through the earplugs is not 2 good..

Any more users care to share about their experiences with this phone? I'm so tempted to buy it and loved it when I played with it for a short while but scared the QC not good. The slider and front slider seems the easiest to break down and its only s40. If only Nokia comes out with a bar phone with all the 5610 functions but s60 and 3.5mm jack. Perfect!

just notice notice just now... when the phone pass a magnet(the magnetic pouch),the keypad lock will unlock... beside tat,during a phone call,when it pass the magnet the phone call b cancel... it there anyway to prevent it?

how come the time for sms i received shown isnt match the time shown on the phone.
e.g. the time of sms received at 9.00am and the time of the phone shown is 01.30pm.even the message sender phone time is 01.27pm. wonder whats going wrong... |

I just bought the phone 2 days ago. Just wondering. When I took pictures with the camera, there is an unusual click sound coming from the phone when it was processing the display of the picture I took. I turned off the camera sound effect to make sure of what I heard, & it was still there. Is this normal? |

O...really.Thank god.I previously got N95 (which just got stolen
) and W700i both don't have the sound. Maybe bcoz the u cant turn off the camera sound for the N95 and the W700i doesnt have AF. Well that explains everything. I'm really loving 5610 and made me don't miss my N95 that much (although I do miss it a bit).Red & black is my colour. Reminds me a bit of 7610. Nokia is improving in its design |

I have tried the 3G video call.. not bad! quite smooth i would say..
I have one question. I sent MMS to my friend, my friend can receive it. However, when my friend send me MMS, i never receive it.. There have been 3 MMS not being able to receive. Have anyone faced this before? Is this something to do with the settings? I'm using Celcom. |

This phone supports microSDHC up to 4Gb,I am using Kingston class 4 microSDHC 4GB. Wanted to get myself a Sandisk sadly the outlet out of stock. For those interested in getting large memory for phone,better cope with the high speed type,no lag for me (current used memory 2.2GB,still smooth )Sound quality I would say it is good,high clarity,personally I love it Camera: At day(flash OFF):   At night(totally dark with flash ON): Object distance:1-meter  Object distance:2-meter  Video: VGA mode (640 x 480 @ 15fps) the video quality is just normal,somehow can see some noise in the video. The biggest weak point: Battery life, have to charge every night  |

Then probably the firmware you using not supporting chinese input,this might happens when the phone is actually for other region such as europe or arabia. To have chinese input,you need to get another firmware from different region such as s'pore,hongkong,china etc. Btw,the product code in your phone will automatically choose the firmware region for you when you try to update using Nokia Software Updater,if you are using AP set,you will have to flash your product code in your phone to specific region which supports chinese input so that you get the firmware supporting chinese input.

Hmm...if anyone interested I can post step by step how to flash the product code,including S'pore code which supports simplified chinese input,later,cause wanna sleep now. LOL~

Ok,here is it...
1. Go to the website http://www.b-phreaks.co.uk to download the software "Nemesis Service Suite" (NSS in short) 2. Install it & during installation,there is an option "Virtual USB Device",choose that. 3. Then finish installation. 4. Run the software. 5. Click on the icon "magnifier" on top right of the NSS program. 6. Click "Phone Info" 7. Click "Scan" 8. You can see your phone info by now. 9. Enter the new product code 0556104 (s'pore) and check the box "enable" beside the product code. 10. Click the "write" button below it. 11. Wait for the flashing to be done,after that,click scan again,then click on the button "flash" to check whether the product code changed. 12. Confirm the product code is same with you entered and DONE! 13. Next step just install Nokia Software Updater to upgrade the firmware. *The above product code is tested and 100% working. You mean the built-in dictionary? I didn't use it since I got other java dictionary from internet such as 金山词霸, which is fast & stable. It is dual way dictionary which means it supports chinese input to english output also ^^

Original set doesn't need NSS because the product code of the phone is manufactured base on our region - Malaysia,so most probably it supports not only chinese & english,but also Malay even though you upgrade your firmware to the latest version,so you do not need NSS to flash your product code. Just send back to Nokia service center ask them to upgrade for you. If you use Bluetooth headset,better don't upgrade first,because v4.81 needs you to pair your phone with your bluetooth headset EVERYTIME

just got mine from the blue station, lowyat..
blue in color some more.. love the phone.. hate the software.. used it for a day.. now haf to wait a week for the service centre to reinstall n update or sumthin.. crashed at the 23rd hour (literally).. bought it at 4.00 pm and crashed at 3.00 pm the next day.. shiite! i miss my phone.. LESSON LEARNT: when buy 5610 make sure got warranty! (i got warranty thank god) otherwise its a good enough phone for me with cheap price (cheap parts some might say-----price cheap coz parts cheap maybe?? ) |

Hello guys! Recently got hold of this phone as my secondary phone.
I am using Hotlink 3G but I am not able to receive/send MMS using this phone. I have downloaded both 3G and GPRS MMS settings but to no avail. I have no problem browsing the web and video call though. Update: Problem solved on its own, probably it's just a temporary issue on Maxis side. I discovered a serious bug in this latest firmware v4.81
Not only that you need to pair bluetooth headset everytime, opening Paired Device menu will cause your phone to restart most of the time. WhenI am able to enter the Paired Devices menu, I discovered new bug. There is an error in deleting paired device, it wont delete no matter how many times you select it to be deleted. I have similiar problem problem wif the V4.81 before. The problem resolved once i did a restore to factory default and format the memory card.

Mine updated to v4.81 but dont have the same problem as yours. But I noticed one MMS I received that do not match the time I received, but that could be the server's time was wrong at that time. |

It could be that the problem come from the sms server.
Why don't u do this little experiment, get a friend with u, then u send 1 sms to this friend, take note of current time. When ur friend received it, check the sms details whether it matches ur sending time |

Hehe...the unsynchronized time of sending/receiving sms just because you didn't set the time zone properly. Malaysia time zone is GMT+8
Menu->Settings->Date & Time->Date & time settings->Time zone: Change to GMT+8, done! |

very smooth than my ex-n73me when at the shop there.... my 1st time touch the phone.... so amazing..... so nice i love the stereo handfree also btw....... y my video just can record 30 scds only everytime?? nt same my previous n73... is depends on the memory card |

actually i want to ask.... the price have a big diff between hp shop n pc shop means hp shop sell at RM 110, but then pc shop sell at rm70 i worried is fake... bt so far.... i always bought at pc shop cos i think they order more in quantity, so can get cheaper..... thanks EDMONDWWK for teaching me thanks~~ me also no lui.... bt video call with my family mah haha |

The packaging on the memory card specifies the class of the card. Help..I Was Hearing Song While Ago.. N Den My Phone Suddenly Lag.. Den Stuck At There.. I Cant Close My Hp Or Do Anything.. So I Try Take Off My Battery n Its Off D.. My phone has no problem with sms/viewing files during the music player is on,the firmware version of my phone is v4.81. Did you face the same problem when you used the memory card provided by your phone provider? |

I suspect that your problem is memory card related. Your phone hangs while doing other thing (eg. SMSing, browsing) while listening to MP3s at the same time (which is stored in ur memory card, and it is being read by your Nokia 5610). And when you restart the phone, it does not detect your memory card (again, memory card related problem). Therefore, I suspect that your 2gb Kingston is problematic. Worst case is, your phone's microSD card controller (the chip/module that read/write to the microSD card) is faulty, in this case u need to send your phone back for repair/replacement. You can try buying/borrowing your friend's microSD and test it with ur phone. If the same problem persists, then need to send back your phone for warranty.        Advise for recording video,save your video every 10 minutes,cause today I recorded 22+ minutes video and something error made me left only the first 5 minutes of video  I tried to record 12 minutes+ and everything seems fine when I was in S'pore, so I thought to record the video today continuously cause lazy to edit in PC,but sadly the back part of the video seems corrupted due to don't know what reason |

n80 is fix focus while 5610 has the auto focus function...if outdoor picture both k810 and 5610 snap the high quality picture and depends on the user favour

5610 is music device with autofocus camera.... cool n smooth slider....

i used philips earphone(dunno wat model) with 5610.. it produce very gud sound n bass..... meanwhile N81 is less bass with same earphone.... dun try nokia earphone its cheapo type.....

I m facing the same problem as engguan
Everytime when I wana send files frm laptop to phone, it will keep asking me to pair device. After that, it shows that 'The name already exists' , which in fact I m using the same laptop.. Later ,i wana check my 'Paired devices' in the Settings --> Connectivity --> Bluetooth --> Paired devices.. When i pressed it, the phone will turn off.. It is REALLY REALLY annoying.. However, there is no problem when i wana transfer files from phone to laptop |

Lag on startup is common due ram can cache preload, Ive found my w850 replacement, now 5610, the flash lite support was better than w850 which is no sound,
The flash lite speed faster than w850 (which mean the cpu itself is faster than my previous w850), the only problem is video software capped to 15fps no matter quality does. i think i read some solution from a forum somewhere else from internet.
that forum suggest that we set the time of 5610 to the correct GMT of our location, for example, we set GMT +8 if we are in malaysia. second is dun store too much of sms in phone until 1000++, try not to store so much sms in ur phone. i personally try these 2 solutions and found that it work act. just to share my experiences here.. |

My bro is using this phone. The screen sometimes go blank(black) for a while, and have to slide the slide thing a couple of times before it show back whatever its supposed to be showing. And sometimes the screen overlaps, or lari, like showing half of the words, or the words at the bottom showing up at the top of the screen, like the screen lari a bit, but then it return back to normal. Sometimes the screen even showed upside down. Is that normal? Happened yesterday, v4.2... update to 4.81, not that much better. Any suggestions?

Hi everyone,
Been using this phone for about 2 months now.. My phone jatuh few times and the slider thing is broken.. The front housing got a little gap on the side.. Luckily the phone is still working without any problem .. I need some recommendation from all the "otai" here where to repair with this kind of problem.. Oh btw, is there a shop where instant repair is possible? I dont want to leave my phone at the shop for a few days or perhaps a month.. Here is the picture..   Thanks guys.. not many phone shop want to fix it i guess...i tried in lowyat but none of the shop with the parts available...so far only 1 shop in South City Plaza offering RM80 for changing the housing...but the phone need to be leave there for 1 day

, frequent drop from higher place result defect its cosmetics, maybe changing casing would solve the problem, next time becareful bdon, South City Plaza is on the way to Serdang right ? |
