Hello guys! Recently got hold of this phone as my secondary phone.
I am using Hotlink 3G but I am not able to receive/send MMS using this phone. I have downloaded both 3G and GPRS MMS settings but to no avail.

I have no problem browsing the web and video call though.

Update: Problem solved on its own, probably it's just a temporary issue on Maxis side.

I discovered a serious bug in this latest firmware v4.81
Not only that you need to pair bluetooth headset everytime, opening Paired Device menu will cause your phone to restart most of the time.

WhenI am able to enter the Paired Devices menu, I discovered new bug. There is an error in deleting paired device, it wont delete no matter how many times you select it to be deleted.

BTW I am using original Avaxx set.

Which Restore you did? Restore Settings Only or Restore All (delete all data) ? I have tried Restore Settings Only, the problem seemed resolved for a while, all my paired devices were deleted.

Weird thing is when I start pairing with BT headset, my previously paired devices (a few handphones) magically reappear in Paired Devices menu, and I cannot delete them.

Good news! Restore All solved all my problems
No need to pair the device everytime anymore, I can access "Paired Devices" menu, adding and delete paired device without problems

Wow.. your problem indeed more serious than mine before.. surely we open SMS more often than Bluetooth Menu right.

That was how it happened to me when I open Paired Device menu, the screen shutdown and then it goes straight to Active Standby (original screen display)... anyway that was before I did Restore All (Delete All Data). Be sure to backup your Contacts, Msgs, Notes, etc before proceed

@XiAoHoE what firmware your phone is on?

Mine updated to v4.81 but dont have the same problem as yours. But I noticed one MMS I received that do not match the time I received, but that could be the server's time was wrong at that time.

Do u mean all ur SMS/MMS showed wrong date and time of send/receive?

It could be that the problem come from the sms server.
Why don't u do this little experiment, get a friend with u, then u send 1 sms to this friend, take note of current time.

When ur friend received it, check the sms details whether it matches ur sending time

Have u tried Restore All as I suggest? Remember to backup ur Contacts, Messages, Notes etc...

Go to Menu--> Settings--> Rest. factory sett --> Restore all

You mean that your phone also having problem with bluetooth? or the screen goes blank then back to Stand-by mode? Even though your phone still on firmware v4.2 ?

About the backlight, mine is also white in colour. I guess different region (eg Europe ) has different backlight.

Oh if you have the money and the needs, upgrade the memory to better microSD maker (eg. Sandisk, Kingston)
Better yet, get 4GB microSDHC by Sandisk

5610 supports up to 4GB (as officially announced by Nokia, though in Nokia Support Forum a user reported that his 5610 works with microSDHC 8GB, however the phone will show incorrect storage size)

If ur account is 3G activated, and you're inside 3G area, try video-calling your friend (make sure he/she is 3G-activated and also in 3G area)
That was how I test the camera.

It is the speed rating standard for SDHC card (including mini SDHC and micro SDHC)
SDHC is an extension of SD standard. I won't go into detail of the extension but most important is it extends storage capacities beyond 2.0 GB.

Defined as :-

Class 2 : 2 MB/s write speed
Class 4 : 4 MB/s write speed
Class 6 : 6 MB/s write speed

i'm not at a liberty to say but if compared to older W series that my brother has, W800i, this 5610 XpressMusic is clearly better to my ears.

I never have this problem as I also listen to MP3s regularly with my 5610 even before updating the firmware to v4.81, have u upgraded ur memory card?
If so, how big is the capacity (2gb, 4gb), is it a Class 2 or 4 or 6 (speed rating) and who is the maker (Sandisk, Kingston, etc)

I suspect that your problem is memory card related.
Your phone hangs while doing other thing (eg. SMSing, browsing) while listening to MP3s at the same time (which is stored in ur memory card, and it is being read by your Nokia 5610). And when you restart the phone, it does not detect your memory card (again, memory card related problem).

Therefore, I suspect that your 2gb Kingston is problematic. Worst case is, your phone's microSD card controller (the chip/module that read/write to the microSD card) is faulty, in this case u need to send your phone back for repair/replacement.

You can try buying/borrowing your friend's microSD and test it with ur phone. If the same problem persists, then need to send back your phone for warranty.

First of all you need internet connection (DSL at least).

Go to nokia.com, search for Nokia Software Updater, download and install it.

After install:

Connect your phone with the provided cable.

Run Nokia Software Updater, then follow the instruction to upgrade your firmware. (NOTE: Backup your data first)
