I'm thinking of buying lcd, either Toshiba A3500E or Sharp A53M. My priority is watching astro n sumtime DVD. Which one do brothers out there, recommended? Glad if anybody can help.

Well, here's my promised review of the Sharp 37A53M with RGB Astro (I do not have an S-Video, thinking of getting it later).

Basically, I prefer my 10 year old JVC CRT screen output

I have the mode set to 4:3, but sometimes blocks still appear. The screen is OK (better than some of the others I see in the showroom), but is not as clear as my CRT.

Just wanna comment:

1) LCD is not meant for watching ASTRO.
2) Repeat step 1 a few times.
3) "Blocks" that appears sometimes are due to shitty ASTRO compression signal which happens during heavy action. I was watching a chinese channel the other day on my CRT when the blocks/pixellaxation is so horrible it looks like a PSX (Playstation 1).
4) Bad signal also can gives blocky signal.

*shrug* Someone asked me to review my TV with Astro, so I did.

Yah, I saw the block during fast action. Not recommended to watch F1 on LCD

Yeah, i know dat lcd is not watching astro but i'm going to buy a new tv soon so was thinking of straight away buy lcd compare to crtv. That's why i need any comments on which one is better with astro between sharp A53M n toshiba A3500E. Thankx a lotz!

i just did a comparison with this 2 brands, but is 42" and thier full hd siblings, a63 vs x3500, the toshiba definately looks better than sharp in viewing astro.

That is a nationwide offer. IMHO, the stupid Sony DVD player that they bundle are crap. I would definitely give it away.

Jusco is having sale on its panasonic plasma/LCD combo with HT system...

But dun be fooled...my 42inch was going like RM4999 at Jusco, but since this combo promotion period, they raised it back to Rm5499.

So better shop around first...

How do we know whether the set of LCD TV we bought is original one but not display set or used set ?

If buy from Jusco, will it have that kind of not the 1st hand problem ?
