I think 100hz for the LCD is real...at one time Courts had a promotion outside its store, abit dim environment, can watch the LCDs side by side...the Sony V series color very good but flickers abit compare to other 100hz models. Even my wife says it flickers.

Infact if I'm not mistaken, most LCD or plasma equiped with 100Hz can have an option to change to 50Hz just for comparison. rx330, why dun you try your panny? its in the settings.

I think guys can scrap the idea of getting 32 inchers...
Nowadays , DVD movies are starting to come in at 2.39:1 ratios...god know who came out of that idea for DVDs. They think everyones got a projector at home!

Darn..those ratios even makes my 42incher looks bad even from 9 feet.

What is 2:39:1 ratios?? I think most are 2:35:1 right?? What movie is that? I think it's only a small minority?
*
I forgot its 2:39 or 2:35 but the picture darn small one...example is Jet Li 'Warlords'.

That giraffe brand is popular, I know a few guys using it..

Mine? I got it free as a gift....actually should be Panasonic one but the dealer gave me the pioneer one...but I doubt its pioneer.

Regarding refresh rate, my Panny got option for 50 for 100Hz....100Hz looks better and brighter...i think no flickering. 50Hz one a bit dimmer and there is some flickering....but if you are used to it, you wont notice it until you compare a 100hz unit side by side a 50hz unit.

hie, just wondering..can those 32" lcd tv connect to pc? what cable do I need?
*
it depends, mostly they have that normal VGA slot, but if your PC has a graphic card and DVI output, when you can connect the DVI to HDMI.

Please check the specs of the computer and LCD first before buying.

Most display cards have DVI outputs connected to HDMI...but for pure HDMI to HMDI connection, please check the specs first.

I have a problem with my LCD TV, when I'm connecting pc to the TV using VGA cable I can get the display of BIOS and until windows start boot screen.

Once the windows start and sound come out there is no display. blank screen. I still can get the sound but the display is blank.

I can get the display when using S-Video cable but not HDMI and VGA cable. Now my pc only detect my cd tv as "default monitor" before this its detect as "Sony LCD TV".

Can anybody help me.  cry.gif

Most of the time, ppl. who get this usually downgraded from Vista back to XP...so what you do is upgrade your drivers...

Think of the whole package with the extended warranty...not the set alone...also, not all extended warranty are all the same, read the fine prints.

Jusco is having sale on its panasonic plasma/LCD combo with HT system...

But dun be fooled...my 42inch was going like RM4999 at Jusco, but since this combo promotion period, they raised it back to Rm5499.

So better shop around first...

But some how how do u know that the unit is the return unit by customer who refund ?
they can still re-sealing the whole box and make it look like 1st hand one ? or they just replace by a new box ?
*
Well...since i work in this sector, its so easy to make the box look 1st hand. Just use a hot air gun (like a hair dryer) on the seals and put a new one.
Even for most holograms or security seals it will work.
But for those using paper wax tape than no choice but to change the box..

Which mean anywhere we might get a not 1st hand unit lor since it is so easy to re-seal the box ??
Beside checking the box, anything we can do with the LCD tv unit ? Do it have any counter to check it is new but not used b4 ?
*
Thats easy, most ppl. who repack things are not following standard, so most of the time, the box will look new..BUT, the actual plastic or foam cover that wraps the product itself will look out of place, or the abit torn at the tape side (well, since most of us are so impatient in opening the cover).

There are other ways to tell if the unit has been opened before...but only the manufacturers and the sales know it, most of the time, the carton box itself will have small special markings or small cuts.
But if the unit is returned to the manufacturer, there will be no way of telling this.

Currently, one of the best...

But then again, some say Sharp is better...

So what you do is bring your source...errr.. I mean a test DVD and borrow their player thats same as your house one and test, but make sure you test it with the same source....

If they have astro connected even better...since they are using same decoder.

Those mega electronic shops are mostly using HDHDD so picture very clear one...dun be fooled.

Actually,

What do ppl. mean about satisfied? I read many threads abt LCD/Plasma and most of them are satisfied..

It doesn't matter whether you take Sony, Sharp, LG, Panny, Tosh, Samsung etc...
I also satisfied with my 42' panny, even though it buzzes now and then...or looks abit old compared to the latest Samsung or LG.

Only when both competing units are side by side then only you can judge whether you like or dislike the set. So very important is before you buy the unit please do a comparison.
Manufacturers invest millions into making you satisfied and difference between them are minimal or subjective depending on personal taste.

But getting a branded, latest, top of the range gadget you 'probably' wont go wrong...

Infact, in you go China...ppl. will say wahh..you got a Konka set man...that awesome!

need 2 ask u guys, if watching TV show like NTV7,RTM possible in LCD TV ah? since its widescreen, and high resolution, dun thnk TV broadcast HD stufff.. so pic will be very blur? and how is d ration.. 4:3 n 16:9...black box on left n right?
*
Of course can watch NTV, RTM on widescreen...nowadays, more and more adventisements, movies are in widescreen format...

For the format, actually got 3 aspect...

1.4:3 with sidebars
2.Just
3.16:9

For TV just use the 'Just'. The picture dun look so pulled as 16:9. believe me, you'll get use to it.

Since I'm using plasma, it is not recommended to watch 4:3 aspects with sidebars for the first 1000 hours to avoid image retention. If still insist to watch 4:3 aspect with sidebars, most plasma units can adjust the sidebar to other colors than black.
