Those are iridium spark plugs. Cost more but can last longer.
*
Actually the cost of iridium spark plugs (4 pcs use for 100k km) not much different compare to the total cost of normal spark plugs used for 100k km, it just that 1 time pay RM200-300 make people feel costly where else for normal spark plugs pay around RM30-40 each time (but only use 10k-15k km).

Ya, iridium spark plug last longer typically around 100k km, also can feel car more powerful bit.

but I heard to replace livina spark plug is not easy
*
Not easy because more items to be dismantle in order to access the spark plug, after that more items to assembly back.

QUOTE(A1700 @ Jul 21 2018, 10:19 AM)
Hello guys,

Today I sent my car to Nissan for service, told me that my car need to replace the lower arm (both sides) and subframe as due to crack.

Total cost is about 3K (labor + parts), Woh so expensive.
Just a quick check have guys replaced these parts before?

My car is about 8 years old, still serve me well and I did not feel is there any abnormality, not sure do I really need to replace the lower arm & subframe???

Any  thought??? Thanks.
*
It’s bushes (rubber type) of lower arm & subframe that cracked but Nissan do not sell bush itself only so need to replace complete unit of lower arm, subframe. Google found many comments worldwide, Nissan car seem to have this problem.

Possible symptom Kok kok sound when turning left or right.

Wow 3K (labor + parts) so expensive, Nissan....
Heard subframe around 8xx-9xx, lower arm may be around 2xx-3xx per pc.

Just replaced subframe with customised bushing at the above workshop, long pending knocking noise problem solved.
They will check any other bushing/rubber crack, lower arm as well & advice if need to be replace.
Saw few nissan cars there for similar repair.
2 types of bushing choice for subframe available:
- Nylon, harder (include installation around RM370) or
- PU, slightly softer than Nylon (include installation around RM550)
Do check their website to confirm the latest price. (I am not related to this workshop but here just to share info)

QUOTE(gold member @ Aug 18 2018, 10:29 PM)

I changed compressor at around 170k km even though I believe it can still survive 1 year (air-con giving noise due to this for nearly 1 year).

One thing to take note, periodic / annually service air-con does last longer but be prepared to fork out RM 500 - 1,000 ++ per service (mine one including labour to change spare parts).

However, I do notice an unusual jerking in speed more than 60km/h, can be 80km/h or 100k/h, I do feel a short and quick jerking sometimes worry that the car might sudden stops at that speed. So far the jerking is quite sudden and recover if I continue accelerate. This jerking is more noticeable when cornering or I cruise at certain speed and release the fuel pedal. Anybody encounter this? If this is the early symptoms of gearbox failure, I think I have to change my car soon. My friend told me is due to torque converter (orifice stuck).
*
Mind to share aircond giving what kind of noise?

Annually service aircond include labour & spare parts RM500-1,000... do you mean changing the aircond cooling coil/evaporator, valve etc.?

Mind to share where you usually service your GL?
(...looking for more choice of workshop.)

Jerking part seem scary, at close to 170k km now, i have not encounter yet (touch wood....)

I am experiencing this. Minor leak ......seal gasket. Was quoted price to change 700 eventhough gasket seal cost is less than 100. Major cost goes to labour. Btw this is quoted by outside foreman. Nissan SC quoted be 1.5k is not mistaken

Currently I am having few major issue.

1 Lower gearbox seal gasket
2. air cond compressor magnet deterioration and making knocking sound.
3. bushes, lower arm and engine mounting and etc

Can any user kind enough to recommend a good mechanic around PJ? Reliable and honest.

Car has clock 130k km and am thinking reluctantly to change or upgrade. Still resisting.

Please advice.
*
Mine clock near to 170k km, i too reluctant to change because still feel good to drive GL (even now wife use for short distance driving & i driving honda city).
The only problem is car getting old, slowly many parts to be repair & replace. Since i decided to keep this car, I just priotize urgency & repair it one at a time. My gear box leak seem not happening for sometime so i kiv it.
Unfortunately i dont know any good mechanic around PJ.

My aircond compressor got knocking sound ...metal loose. They show me an example it was the compressor pole holding the pulley. There is gap and hence when compressor start the pulley will shake a bit in order to get a grip etc. Technically compressor is ok working but the pole comes in whole pcs with....

*
Actually not worthly to change the whole compressor due to that. Technically i believe it can be repair/replace related part but usually most of the workshop do not know how to repair or not willing to do those repair (not much can earn) so easy job is recommend car owner to change compressor (also can earn more) realistic....

Yeah change new original compressor cost a bomb from TC.
May be can consider used original compressor (cost lower) from those potong garage but risk to be take too.
If i am not mistake even those recond may be no warranty or very short duration (weeks or 1 month) of warranty.

honk wasn't functioning for few days.
send for workshop, told that there's 1 part broken ( not sure the part name)

replace with oem product RM400 included labour
*
That part is call clock spring, usually the flat cable inside broken.
Original part very costly, previously i hear atleast RM500. OEM will cost ranging from RM50~400 (from online web)

Mine was repair changing the inside flat cable 7 months ago this year total RM220, 1 year warranty by the repairer workshop, so far still working well (touch wood....)

Yeah most of the workshop dont do repair.

Mine repair at the workshop that fb livina group shared info,
https://www.facebook.com/srsairbagsystemspecialist/
this small workshop specialize repair changing clock spring cable or replace clock spring unit, repair/replace seat belt locking system etc.
He give u choice of repair by replace cable on your original unit or if u need fast he will replace the clock spring unit. I opt for repair by replace cable on my original unit, i saw the whole repair process.

I went to SC to check, it is the spark plug and coil. Changed the spark plugs, surprisingly only clocking 150 kkm. Last change at 100km, which should last 100kkm.

It is just mild jerking, and didn't cause any failure.
*
Huh 50k km give problem hmm...

End up need to change all 4 pcs of spark plugs?
How much SC charge for coil?

Thanks for sharing.

change plugs fixed the issue.
worst case scenario the coils died.

Was that Nissan recommended plugs & used for how many k km cause this jerking problem ?

first time change plugs
90k kms
*
Ohh.. original plugs come with the car, 90k km i think still acceptable.
May be possible only 1 of the plug that cause the problem but anyway since 90k km, changing all 4 plugs together will be better & worth it.

Any reason for not replacing all 4 ignition coils at the same time?
*
Due to sudden faulty, wife use daily to fetch kid, no choice
& immediately replace at workshop being charged crazy high price per pc.

Recently bought 2 pcs (at about 1/2 of the price) may try diy later on.

hi. how was the workmanship here? recommendable?
*
For me the workmanship good & acceptable.
They will exchange your subframe set with another subframe set that pre-mounted with customized bush.

Bare in mind since the customized bush is not rubber type, it definately not as soft as original (rubber bush) so might not be as comfort as original. If you are not particular sensitive driver perhaps you don't feel different or feel not much different.
I am satisfy with the result.
