I'm using this profile since 1st tyre change.

The brands would depend on your budget and usage. Check out the Tyre Talk section.

I'm using Dunlop J5 now.

Want to ask. I have a 2012 GL 1.8L. I noticed that when the gear is around second or third gear, it seems to slip as in when I press the pedal it takes a bit of time to engage, hence feels like a momentarily loss of power. I've changed the spark plug and coil plug, and cleaned the throttle body but the problem persist. Other than that, normal driving is OK its just that nagging issue when the car slows down around a turn and when I need to accelerate that I face this issue.

Also, would be it weird if I upgrade my tyres to 195/70/R15, 70 hoping for more comfort?

in the morning, first start of your car, do you feel your car was idle for a second then only it will move?

Does the symptoms is like
- Morning engine starts, from P to D, it takes few seconds (starts from like 1-2 seconds, and become longer over the time)?
- When shift gear, it will like "slip" and not engage to the next level it suppose, and the time it takes become longer (like the 1st point)?

If your car have above symptoms, then it is mostly the gearbox issue, as my car also face the same issue last year

What had i done to solve the issue
1. Full change gear fluid, some workshop will only change partial (2 bottle instead 4 iinm), just do full flush and fill with brand new ATF, my recommendation is get the genuine unit to ensure that you had eliminate the factor
2. Gear treatment oil, there are a lot of brands in the market, from RM30 to few hundred, get a reputation brand or from the workshop that you trust and add it into your gearbox, unless you are familiar with car structure, you will need workshop engineer to assist on this.
3. The worst case - gearbox issue, which above 2 cant solve the issue after a week or 2, then you are in bad luck, the problem may only can fix by gearbox overhaul or replacement, the cost will be from RM 3k depends on the area you in.

For the points 1 and 2, you need to drive the car for a week or 2 to let to "recover", you can feel the problem is resolving (the "slide" time will reduced over the time and gone eventually)

Hope that above long story can helps you biggrin.gif

Good luck mate!

I went to a few mechanics include Nissan. Some says diagnostics shows transmission code issue, some say OK no error. But ask me to change whole transmissions but makes me feel wasteful and expensive especially during this times. I will try the first 2 points first, sounds reasonable solution to try. Thanks

Hi All... anyone would like to try the Kaidon disc rotor can you please let me know?
The reason I'm asking is because buying the disc rotor in bulk (> than 1 set) will be in significant cheaper price than 1 set.
Kaidon disc rotor can effectively increase the stopping power of your brake. For those who needs to understand more can visit https://www.kaidon-brake.com/

Thank you all.
whatsapp: 012-2507882 (Preferably for those who stay in Klang Valley area so that can conveniently pass you the rotor)

Thanks bro
Ive change the tyre. Overall feels better than original size
Anyway this car alignment is frustating. Since the shop offers free alignment but i doubt they do it well. And when i complaint they said need to change suspension and mounting. I dont really agree

So anyone can recomend good shop for alignment?
I live in sg buloh but i dont mind go for extra mile for a good shop.
Thanks in advance

Sorry for the late reply, not sure if you’ve solved your problem but did you consider solenoid valve replacement for your gearbox? Your symptom is very consistent with solenoid valve failure…

Normally serviced it when change spark plug or plug coil. If change your air filter frequently (along with engine oil change) should be no problem.

Hello guys, anyone bought engine mount from Shopee / Lazada?
I have 1 confirmed RH mount gone, diagnosed by an experienced but kinda expensive foreman.

https://shopee.com.my/NISSAN-JAPAN!!...234.10108180972

My question is whether these are really genuine / original? I was kind of expecting close to RM600 per set for original.

So many claiming OEM / OEM Japan bla bla, I believe for car spare parts OEM means 3rd party....right?

its good to service at the first 100k km. then after that, really depends.
but what i can say is, the symptom that shows you really need to clean it is when you realized when you idle, you rpm might occasionally fluctuate more. instead of staying at idle rpm.
if more serious, when you idle longer, like waiting to pickup someone, etc, on some occasional, you will feel like engine wanna die. (that's also when rpm go up and down a bit).

Not original Nissan parts. The price difference with original parts could be very significant. You can easily check out the price by calling up Tan Chong Service.

With cost savings, some are okay with OEM parts as long as not critical components.

Tan Chong themselves are making parts....what do they actually sell if we are to bring into the service center? Forgive me but I bought my car 2nd hand and have not ever sent it back in. In any case I dont plan to.

Tan Chong do not make all parts. Some they buy from their sub contractors and sell under Tan Chong.

You can just buy parts from Tan Chong without fixing there.

My 2008 1.8 G.livina do have the same problem where car not moving on D gear last week. Workshop suggested to change the ATF oil , ATF gasket filter and add in ATF oil treatment. Since this is my backup car, I didn't drive it for few days after ATF oil changed service. Encountered same problem again yesterday morning and called the mechanic, he said I need continue drive for at least a week to clean up the solenoid gear, something like that.

Hope it can solved.

Hi, guys! It was a great experience to own Nissan Grand Livina for the past 10 years. Thanks for all the pointers and helps. It was a normal MPV. My reason of owning this car is a bit different from others, that is I prefer spacious driver/ front seat.
A lot can be shared for this great MPV but with some short comings.

Few things what I felt while owing this car were:
i) Comparable to other brand's MPV, it is a ladder chassis MPV, given quite a comfortable ride
ii) Too bad it is under Nissan, well as I know about Nissan, they are quite conservative about the accessories and features. Spare parts also not as long lasting (Tan Cheong), I would say.
iii) It closes to a sedan but for my utilization, not much use of a MPV, rather most of the time I was alone, so was thinking how much fuel I can save if I were driving a sedan (or a myvi) but sometimes I do need to travel far.
iv) Maneuver wise, it is a MPV, doesn't give a good handling although I have installed strut bars, except for last row of the car.
v) Driving in highway quite shaky especially passing by big vehicle like bus or truck. Doesn't give sense of secure while cruising in highway.
vi) Prefer Toyota Wish over NGL if there if Toyota was selling new wish rather than recon's.
vii) The space itself is actually limited. MPV actually is quite awkward, same like other multi purpose vehicles, having space either for all passengers or sedan's space plus luggage space but not both.

Anyway, since I have sold my NGL, over the years I have some collection of NGL's accessories, all are aftermarket/ OEM no brand items but does serve the purpose:
i) Retractable cargo / trunk cover
ii) Seat cover:
- Front Seats with pillows
- Middle Seats
iii) Nissan Grand Livina Pedal lock (with 3 spare keys)
iv) Carpet (5 pieces) Beige Colour
v) Sunshade for 6 windows with clips
vi) Lower grille (under front grille)
vii) Rubber Carpet (fit the Beige Colour carpet, 7 pieces- included rear seat’s)
viii) Dashboard cover
ix) Cargo/ Trunk tray
x) Handbrake cover

Anyone who are interested, please let me know (message), I am staying at JB, my best price will be RM800 for all including some free gifts:
i) 1x Remote control silicon cover
ii) 1x 1L Bosch Dot 4 Brake Oil
iii) 2x 1L Nissan ATF Oil

Will save you quite marginable for all these accessories.

Prefer COD.
