Both US and HK versions (most likely these 2 variants are sold on shopee/lazada) are compatible with our local telco. But I think HK version is better coz it has dual sim and can support samsung pay. Not sure about samsung pay with US set but if you are okay with single sim and doesn't care about samsung pay, go for cheaper US variant.

but yes, i do have to agree the sensor is annoyingly hard to adjust

but the face recognition is top notch

I used to forward to front fingerprint sensor but now I miss the days of older Note's backside capacitive sensor that is far more sensitive.

I am using S21 HK set.
Plus side of HK version is that it has no bloatwares, but you can always flash the rom afterwards if you get US set, but beware to get US unlocked telco set.


Avoid Korean set because you can't use outside of Korea, to use Samsung Pay you need korean credit card.

So far i did a search here. Only a few mentioned overheating

Some on reddit/xda also mentioned after a few days its fine

Was it fixed with a recent software update?

Is overheating subjective?

I remember on my note10+ it does get hot if too heavy of usage but cools down pretty quickly too

Actually how does overheat happen?
Keep on saw only on high end Samsung phone
Rarely see on midrange like A series lite series

seems like threads on reddit or xda are quite subjective

as there was no detailed info on how the overheat started

all i see was "yes mine is overheating!! mine too! my phone is hot to the grill can cook an egg!! etc etc"

it could be they just fully set the phone up and expect the phones to be cooled? where it would overheat.. which is normal

or it could be they max out everything? turn on high brightness - bluetooth, nfc, wifi, data, all on?

or they never optimize the phone yet.

or the phone is still learning the user's usage?

i dont know

or because samsung overhyped the 2100, so people are expecting it to be near 10/10 perfect?

hope i wont regret with s21u.

Tbh, I have used this for 2 weeks, I don't feel its hotter than my s10plus. with case on, not even feel hot when holding it to game or normal browsing on insta/fb/browser.

so it could also be the ang mohs overreacting lah
