How do I know if my critical care insurance covers early diagnosis? I heard from yt that things like diagnosis, scanning, early stage cancer not covered.

Any specific terms in the policy? Very hin

While waiting for real insurance sifus to response, I googled and found this,. Hopefully it could provides you with some added info.

"Not all critical illness plans are the same.

Typically, critical illness plans only cover advanced stages of an illness. Some plans only cover the early stages. There are also insurance plans that cover both stages. But what’s the difference between early stage and advanced stage coverage?"

Hey bro any ideal how come ge increasing price of insurance plan so many times???
2 years ago increased about rm300 next year I see in econnect my plan been increased again by rm700.
This is not following the age chart I received when sign up and when will this increase end? Its already out of my budget...

if already out of your budget , review it with your agent , by downgrading some of the coverage to suits your budget instead of cancelling it.
i assume you bought heavy CI + medical card , as life + accident hardly will get repricing , if yes also ratio very low.

You can refer back your full policy documents check for the clause under Critical illness.
Well , if it covers then it will be written cover for both early and late & what are those illness name.
Nowadays CI not just covered for illness , it is being extend until cover for mental health , ICU payout , post surgery payout.

1. There may be a high volume for claims that will cause the insurance company to increase the premium charged in order to continue to offer the benefits.

You may refer to your policy contract on what is covered in your critical illness plan.

Whereas anything related to scanning, diagnosis will fall under the Hospitalization & Surgical category.

Just to share insurance premium rising is not unique to Msia. Even in Spore it is also same especially as you age more. Some insurance do offer some discount for those policy holders who have not claimed before but not all do. So if you never claimed before basically your premiums is subsidizing some other ppl who make successful claim. That is why there is a saying last time must kena once else very rugi for medical, hospital related insurance. That is the irony of it! Kena to enjoy the benefits?!?!

I'm 37 and I sign up to this plan 8 years ago. Did you get any price increase since join?
Mine if I look at original chart that I got when sign up age 36-40 I have to pay rm1000 a year. 2 years ago i got a letter saying they have to raise the price due to rising cost, which came up to rm300 so rm1300 a year now next year in econnect I see I have to pay rm2000. That's is another rm700 price increase.

What I'm saying is the overall claims on that company, not whether you made any claims or not during your subscription to the policy.

You buy standalone medical, i see. Mine is not standalone but not that it matters. Mine bought 2014 also, got price increase in 2020 and 2022. About 20% each time.

My mother's plan is exorbitant price now. Close to age 70. Hard oo..

They are different protection. Medical card is you use on yourself. Life insurance is you die the monies give your dependents/nominees. This make sense if your kids very young cannot earn monies feed themselves so you die give them some monies. But if say your kids all grown up all can earn monies then your life insurance death benefits don't think is that good anymore unless you belong to old generations die must give some 'inheritance' to kids?

For me I think once my kids all earn monies I will terminate mine get some monies enjoy my retirement life. For some life insurance terminate cannot get back any monies then too bad leave it.

Not really, you didn't hit the mark at all with the above guess.

Though if everything means a swift death to you, you don't need insurance really. Cause once you're dead, problem solved for you.

Not for your family because no one replaces you. Unless you don't deem your existence is important to your family but just matter whether you need to die ASAP should any complication occur to avoid "problems". Then seriously, you don't really have a proper planning done yet.

But then again, who am I to determine how you'd like to live life or die? - you determine your own legacy.

check the fine print in the contract document. do you have the name of your critical care insurance? might be able to check online for you if you are able to provide the name.
