tried one american guy's monster cable while his group were in malaysia. my cable didn't work at that time, so he let me use his, can't hear the difference though, but certainly all the idle noise are gone la

If i wanna buy expensive cable also, i look for the gaya gaya ones only... well not really, i look for ropes I play with my china cable and with my guitarists monster cable totally no difference. Any suggestions? Greetings! welcome welcome, Do look at Warwick Corvette Std, too bad the swee lee sale had just ended 2 weeks ago.. Should be a great buy if u're getting it from singapore Another alternative would be a typical fender P-bass, maybe a japanese made one. I'm not good at giving suggestions, but i tried my best |

Ibanez BTB205? should fit pretty nicely in your budget and still have quite a few extra cash left
P.S. back to my question, are rope cables like fender rope generally better in terms of durability? Or do they make it just for show? |

Happy 2008 indeed, my fellow low end assasins
May 2008 be a year where you receive lots of bassing goodies from your parents, loved ones, etc. May it be a year where all of your bass needs are met, especially in the area of tones, lines, techniques and stuffs. May you continue to find new possibilities in your daily GAS for newer and more different sounding stuffs than what you already have, even though you don't really need them. May all your strings stay intact, all your necks in proper bend, and all your fingers in one piece (as in, 5 left fingers, and at least 3 right fingers for obvious reasons). Have a great low end 2008 my dear low end sifus, even though u guys are extremely cruel in the area of intimidation.... I forgive yall, for it drives me to learn, learn, and LEARN! |

QUOTE(nimrod2 @ Oct 20 2008, 05:02 PM) is that the cheapest range? my bass is a 5 stringer. damn extra strings makes it more expensive to maintain im not sure if that's the cheapest range, but i consider that very cheap for a set of dr. the 5 string version would probably set u back around rm130. but it's definitely worth it. considering that im using a rm75 daddario prism that only sounds bright for a little less than a month. after that, dead strings, brader! if u dun mind dead strings like some of the forummers here, then go for daddario, no offence to bassix, the daddario fan anyway, time for me to get new strings already. mine totally sucky sound. other then DR, what else should i try out? i've tried ernieball, d'addario, fender, goodstring ( dr's brightness would probably last more than 3 months, sometimes 6, reboiling it after that would return the brightness for another month or 2 months. a lot of shops in malaysia dat don't have dr would recommend rottosound, anyone tried that before? they say it's quite good, rm90 for a 5 string set if im not mistaken. |

QUOTE(nimrod2 @ Oct 20 2008, 07:39 PM) well i dont mind dead sounding strings as long as they last. if i'm not mistaken, i bought my current strings in dec last year. that means they lasted me for about 10 good months before they started being unplayable. i guess if they last long its good. how long does DR's last? i dont mind trying. coz u never try, u never know right? Boiling bass strings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=st9i_0SVzHQand btw, what do u mean by reboiling? really boil it? rm75 for 4strings i assume? where did u buy it btw? well, if u dont mind dead strings, get a d'addario, lasts quite long, my previous prism lasted more than a year of constant playing until the A string gave way a day before a band competition, haha. And don't boil your strings, it only brings back the brightness at the cost of the strings' durability. I'm not sure how long does a DR last though, but apparently they are known to be able to withstand very high amount of tension. |

they are wat d'addario call as the brightest strings on the market. well, after a week of usage it's definitely not btw, nimrod, have u sent ur bass to tham before? |

QUOTE(lordie @ Oct 28 2008, 12:46 PM) if u want ESP/LTD stuff go to singapore and buy u save 40%-50% of the price in KL. thanks for the info F-255fm is made in indonesia. accept for the signature stuff are in korea. QUOTE(Mythras231 @ Oct 29 2008, 06:22 PM) Found a bass that looks like Fender ... Craftmens ... Around 600 bucks with a bag ~.~ ... Consider cheap ? Craftsmans are really good, tested 2 of the basses on sale at CK music, altho it lacks much of the fender traditional tone IMO, i find its tone a rather unique modern-tone like sound, wont compare it to my sx coz they both sound very different, but it sounds.. i can tell u.... awesome, easily better than my friend's ltd f5e (hehe, cannot compare passive and active eh?). i'm also planning to get one of these craftsman in 2 weeks' time, crazy promo nw in CK music, line6 lowdown studio 110 (75watts amp), the craftsman FJB105, korg tuner, gig bag, strap and cable, all for just rm1190. Sr300 ( Ibanez ) is quite good right ? Comes with D'Addario strings SR300 is quite good, just a bit expensive |

QUOTE(qarlkross @ Nov 24 2008, 06:36 PM) hey guyz, olp mm2 ar, shud be a bit pass rm1000 if i'm not mistaken, used to be can get from js music, nw dunno where to get, i dun think they carry olp anymore. some mm2s are good tho, but the one i tried, really disappointing... but im sure most of them sounds awesome, just i a bit unluckyreporting in for a quick question....a big fan of stingray but no dough to get it....so i'm asking about the OLP MM2? how much is it? how is it? and where do i get it? thx in advance QUOTE(dlwl @ Nov 24 2008, 09:16 PM) a normal bass effect would just colorize the tone, not change it, but outboard or onboard preamps like audere, aguilar or sansamp do change the tone drastically, especially if u're using a passive bass, since they technically converts ur passive bass to an active one QUOTE(crazychris @ Nov 25 2008, 12:38 AM) haha, made a mistake of researching too much until js music stopped carrying them the last time i went there to get it QUOTE(dlwl @ Nov 26 2008, 12:26 AM) wanna ask, what's the recommended bass that i can get for RM700-RM800? any cheaper than that also can. are 2nd hand bass buitars recommended? craftsman jazz basses from ck music, too bad u missed out on their recent sale, u can get a very very good line6 75 watts amp along with the bass + gig bag+korg tuner+ cable and strap for just rm1050, i got it and, let me just say, the amp and the bass pair would easily beat a 100watter behringer or ibanez bass amp + sx bass. for the bass itself would be around rm6xx i wud highly recommend the craftsman way more than the sx, although sx has much better build quality, the craftsman's sound pawns it easily. |
