Shoo shoo everdying, tongue.gif. Nah, just joking, tongue.gif. i highly respect u as the sg maestro smile.gif. but come now, grab urself a sg bass and join in the fun yea? tongue.gif

Glad to be on the first page of V2!!! or am i still on the first page? tongue.gif

How to get more attention than guitarists? simple, do a jumping stunt on the bass amp, and let the amp topple, instant limelight. (dat was wat happened at last year's mmu battle of the bands with the bassist from a band called eve, tongue.gif, so disgraceful). tongue.gif. Ask alda and he'll give u the full details of the stunt and how it went awry.

Another way to gain attention? wear extremely nerdy thick glasses and comb ur hair "karipap" style, and play your bass 90 degrees style, (u know, the hold up high like my chemical romance guitarist 1). another instant limelight. i still remember this bassist dat did the exact same thing and was given a proper 3 minute video coverage during sound check, tongue.gif. The rest of the band? all in the dark la, haha. lots of things u can learn from uni gigs tongue.gif, where there isn't much band-ism going on, just a pure melee between the guitarist and bassist, tongue.gif. Oh yea, sometimes keyboards included too tongue.gif

Bassix: Erm, im sorry that u only met arrogant keyboards so far (how can keyboards be arrogant u might ask? tongue.gif, dun like to use the word keyboardists). If u're lucky (as i am), u might stumble upon some of the most humble yet great keyboards around. I personally enjoy playing with these rare find that truly defines the band as a whole. smile.gif

crazychris: How big is the amp? erm... hmmm... just a big hughes and kettner cab+head if i remember correctly, argh! tongue.gif. I dun go on frenster anymore, so dat's not a new bass, it's a really old one, a really good one tongue.gif. Im more into facebook now. Facebook anyone?

and the guy in the video is insane.

lol, raptor might have something to say about bass effects tongue.gif.

anyways, double thumb rocks, the tone produced is beyond comparison. talk about dynamics and techniques smile.gif. u should be real proud to be able to pull it off, bassix. well, i tried, but i cant even come close to actually being able to play it tongue.gif. kudos to victor wooten. using a pick? tongue.gif. i can never use a pick for a bass. i simply wud accidentally drop it everytime i try tongue.gif.

Hehe, i can't really pull it off. I just cheat along the way  tongue.gif ....shhhhh  laugh.gif
Well i don't use it like victor wooten uses it. Not as well anyway. But his style of music is not really mine. Too much going on in it (Except in Flecktones. I like his stuff there). Although i have to admit that he does have many wicked techniques up his sleeve.
*
and notice his humility smile.gif. very similar to urself's, bassix biggrin.gif. i guess all great bassists are pretty humble biggrin.gif. i enjoy all his video lessons on utube. even the ones where he just talks about his influences and experiences. might seem boring to some, but i learned so much more from there than from his double thumbing lessons tongue.gif. we can see how he's been positively built up from these patriarchs of bass.

im glad wooten and a bunch of other great names have proven that great basslines are not just made up from a confusing mix of tens of notes in a single bar. smile.gif.
