Hey chris. The bass amp is nice but the sound on stage is one of the worst i have ever played. We did sound check at 8am that morning and when we played that nite, everything was missing.

First thing, kick, snare, hihats were missing from monitors, can't hear the guitars, they totally change my bass sound on the monitors(only highs not bass) and lead vocals are extremely loud which overwhelms our instruments.

It's not easy to groove in that situation man. It was a very big struggle to nail the groove and if you notice, i was pacing to the drums and to the bass amp, changing my settings as i was playing to get a solid sound. It was a disaster on stage...hahhaha.. oh well, show have to go on and put on a big smile and keep playing.

Apart from Audio Interface ... Is it a compulsory to get the mixing stuff ? I heard that if buy M-Audio ... They include a software CD which includes pretty much everything - Effects and editting stuffs .
*
Yes, they do include software with the addition of effects plugins etc. It's all good stuff.

I'm planning to install the Schaller Strap Lock myself when I got it . Does it suit the Ibanez SR200(GSR200) bass ? Will I break my bass if I do it myself ? Like the screw crack the bass or something when I was screwing it ? shocking.gif What strap should I get together with it ? Plan to get one that can withstand a lot of stuff cause I wanna set it up once and for all . Leather should be okay.

Guys...Do you think that I should change my string next Thursday since I'm going to the instrument shop. My current string is still okay and sometimes it tends to be rough.(But that's okay since I will be using Fast Fret) .

The tone that I want is warm bassy sound just like minsatellites if anyone have watched his/her video that I posted. And furthermore , I want the string to be smooth.

My bass is creamy white , What color of straplock should I use ? I will be using the Schaller one . Use Silver ( Original color ) or change it to Black ? Black Leather Strap is my choice of strap after installing the straplock.

Any ideas?

im still in dilemma on what string to choose for my bass... the shop didnt have just the E string, so i need to spend on a whole set... and their bass strings costs rm80 and above... cry.gif

Okay thanks for your help. Silver lock it is. Planning to get a plain black leather strap though. Im eye-ing on D'Addario actually as they are said to be smooth and produce warm and bassy tones. Furthermore their string color is light silver which you can see it shines brightly. But different people different comment. MOST of the comment is good though. Just need to browse for more before making a decision. Rm80 I think is Standard . In Perth , The strings are like $45 for 2 sets of Bass Strings ( 4 Strings each Pack ) << This is due to promotion. But if there were no promotion, Around $40-$50 for ONE pack which is RM80-Rm100.

I plan to get a 50-60 watt Bass amplifier as well to play in my band. They all have 60w Roland Cube , I'm just planning to get Ashton 50-60W Bass amp as it is a local brand. and I were to place the amp in their house and not my house. biggrin.gif Any idea guys ? Would want to get an Roland B-Cube 30 but that's for my own personal use.

if d'addario, there are cheaper ones on ebay (including shippiing) compared to over here, which are abt rm9x per set... anyone has any opinion on ernie ball strings?

oh and... i suppose a plain strap is just enough... IMHO fancy ones sometimes dont worth the money (well unless one day i feel like spending) wink.gif

My friend is using Ernie Ball , String wise , Produce warm and bassy sound and have a smooth texture and bright color. But the smoothness , You gotta play for quite some time to make it smooth . The first few times is very rough.

Chris, i used to have the same opinion as urs, being that bentley offer ridiculous customer service and prices, etc. Well, it's still about the same condition at the bukit bintang branch although they're slowly improving.

What surprised me the most was how warm and helpful the salespeople @ the mutiara damansara branch, when i went bass shopping a few weeks back. Very patient and understanding even though i took like almost an hour testing lots of their basses but ended up not buying anything, tongue.gif.

Prices were not bad too, vintage modified fretless jazz @ rm1250, amazing tone and feel, very good value. Too bad a bit out of my budget sad.gif.

haha
actuali, i have frens as sales man in bentley
and i did try testing the basses for more than an hour years ago...
stingray, warwick corvette, fender jazz deluxe...

its nt reli tat bad
as a matter of fact..
the overprice in bentley...
u noe u cud gt a stingray with 6k in states
but they're priced 8k
aihz....
and u can find a shop in KL which sells goods in the price near to the retail prices in US tongue.gif

thalmes: if ur planning to hav a bass amp jamming along with full set of drums, i wud say get sumtin more than 100w. ul appreciate the extra volume u have as time goes by...my fren with his hartke A70 has gone distorted after a month with his guitarist's AVT 100
buy a smtn between 100-200w at least...or save up 1st...

+1 to the chromed straplocks
ohya...check ur current strap button holes...
they might be too big for the smaller fender/schaller straplock screws...
