Interesting to note, looks like mine is probably going to get delayed till February as well.

I get mine 8 days earlier than the earliest date given during my purchase.
Guess its because some people will cancel the Online Order after purchase it from somewhere, then it will move u up in the queue.

Oh nice, I was thinking of waiting for a couple of months first before purchasing ACPP. We don't get the Apple Care Plus here in Malaysia right?
*
No AppleCare Plus unfortunately. No harm waiting. I bought Mac Mini and the ACPP for it is actually more expensive at RM349 at the Apple online store. Machines is selling it at RM329. Edu price is RM286 which is what I bought at.

Great! When was your order and ship date? Is Apple using UPS? CTO or base Mac?

Oops my bad. I just presumed you bought from Apple Online. Mine’s still processing but it’s only been 2 days.

Great, you can add NVMe external storages for fast external additional storage space.

Exactly. I ordered an Acasis TBT3 NVME SSD enclosure from Shopee. Haven't bought the SSD yet but probably a 2TB Gen3 NVME. Maybe a 1TB Gen4. Not decided yet.

I’m still struggling to decide whether I should get a Mac Mini (plus iPad Air combo) or MBA to replace my dying 2010 MBP 15” with a failing GPU and bloated battery... unsure.gif

Does the enclose have cooler? Or need extra cooler fins, NVMe runs warm/hot most of the time.

I'm concerned about that too. No fan. It's aluminium and comes with a thermal pad. I suppose the whole enclosure will act as a heatsink if it contacts with the SSD nicely. Gen3 should run less hot than Gen4 right? If so, I'm just gonna get a Gen3 NVME. Gen4 is like double the price anyway.

It's this one: https://shopee.com.my/ACASIS-Thunderbolt-3-...0473.5537737308

No, once you load the nvme into enclosure, there is no direct contact from chip to body of the enclosure.

Correction, the one you buy may slot nicely with thermal pad. Go for 2TB NVMe Gen3 right away.
