Should be. It’s likely the M2 Air will become the next entry level Mac, which means there’s gonna be a bump in price for all Macs. They will definitely reduce the price of the M2 Air but I don’t see it starting at 4399 as per the current M1 Air

That said, RM3,599 is a great buy for the current M1 for those who just need a basic Mac!

I read somewhere that base m2 mba 256gb ssd is slower than m1. Not sure true or not. Even mac mini m2 ssd also suffer ssd slowness compare to m1 version

At 3599, yes, it’s a good buy. My only concern with the M1 is just the 2 USB C ports and no MagSafe, hence when you are charging the laptop you effectively only have 1 port usable. Of course, you can get a USB C hub/dongle thingy and then you’re sorted.

I think Apple using slower storage in their lowest storage models is a known thing, but for the casual user it’s not something you would really notice.

depends on your usage....whether you're 1st timer, or you already using Mac.....also depends on your available budget for a laptop...

M1 macbook air is no brainer if you want to give MacOS a try as it is already very good price from the overall spec....you cannot get anything similar like m1MBA from a windows laptop @ this pricing....

Yes, the m2MBA 256gb have slower ssd reading/writing speed compare to m1mba 256gb....that is because apple change to use 256gb ssd per slot, and left another ssd slot empty...it does affect the speed but depends on what you want to do....

if only use for browsing, email and documents....i don't our usage will reach to the limits...
