this guy is a genius!! he created the rotate me 2.0 and now he is currently working on another big project called the NokMote, which will turn the n95 into a remote controller, it looks so cool when i first saw this video, i will definitely wait for this great symbian application,

Yup, I'm the one who *gulp* want to sell the phone but in the end decided to keep it (in the 8GB version thread).

Apart from the non official firmware/software/content, now every single thing worked as expected. Well, absolutely NO COMPLAINT, to be accurate.

Navigating within menus and switching apps is really quick and snappy, of course some bigger ones like opening gallery and waiting the 5MP pictures to load takes more time, but overall, nothing considered "waiting". Loading the map/GPS is also very fast, within 5 secs which is average to me.

Also, no hanging so far when working with just the phone. I've experienced hanging and restarts when dealing with the cable+PC suite, not that it's bad, it's just that I'm abusing it (copying contact/files while browsing GPS/map, anyone?).

About the 8GB memory and no card slots, well let me tell you, when the hell you need 8GB? I prefer to watch movies and listen music at home. Reserve your 8GB for photo and video shooting, you'll need them. I think 8GB is a very nice number, you certainly won't need more or (the point is) you'll be paying more. However, more is always good, not now at the very least due to the cost of the memory chips. I always dreaming how much capacity a memory can reach in the future so I can buy a big one later and use the small one now. No, you'll probably have to deal with firmware, and not always the phone can handle large capacity cards correctly. So, built in, big memory, hassle free. Why not?

There seems to be no "remove hardware" for the USB connection (like you would before you unplug your thumb drive), unplugging the cable straight away scared me a little as I have had so many stupid problems with USB cased harddisk drive.

So, in the end, to summarize everything up, this is "THE PHONE". Seriously, you couldn't really ask for more at this point, the balance within battery and functions are just nice. And lastly, the black color looks way more classy than you'll think, and I LOVE it...

i can't even use up my 2gb memory card on n95

but have to admit i would love to get n95 8g's additional ram and perhaps the screen

No worry friend, I am using Nokia N95 8GB and have tons of applications installed in my 8gb memory. During installation, you will be prompted to choose the location, just choose 8gb memory instead of phone, simple and straight forward.

change your phone date ... maybe 5months ago...install , then after that set back the correct month...

Guys, did u notice before updating your firmware to 014, u use to press and hold the "<^v>" key to go straight to now playing right?
But after i update to 014, i have to press and hole twice. Do u guys experience this? So annoying have to press and hold twice to shortcut now playing.

Yes, I Experienced The Same Case.. This Is Due To The So Called Keypress Bug.. But Sometimes, 1 Hold Will Bring Me To The Music Player Too.. It Depends..
You Can Always Turn On The Recording Light (The Red Colour) With SpotOn.. As For The Flashlight, I Don't Think It Can Be Done.. You Might Want To Try Python With Some Scripts.. But The Last Time I Tried, It Didn't Work For Me...

Try dont close the now playing, leave it minimized.

Ouch, i just dropped my N95, top part of the casing got a deep gash, the other top part of the music panel got dented, with a tiny piece chinked out...was inside a leather cover but still damaged. Fortunately, nothing serious like cracked lcd or other problem from the phone itself.

Sigh....so careless.....anyone know of where to get the black colour casing? prefer original or so call AP wan...
