Not thinking that wireless is better, just hoping that it's a decent choice. No way that wireless can be more stable than wireless right. My CCTV i've sourced it myself, I buy Reolink directly from their website. Again, because the installation is a bit brainless so I source myself.

Any good hardware is of no use if the connection is unstable or poor. Honestly, you wont have regrets using wired and is money well spent.

You wont have to bothered about is hardware or connection issues.

I am sure you wont want to find out one day when your house is broken into and you are not sure is hardware or connection issues.

My Paradox alarm and cctv is 11 years and not a single issue.

Having existing alarm + CCTV system for the subsale I bought.
But they are relatively older, probably around 10 years.
Thinking to upgrade the complete alarm + CCTV system in one go.
Noticed wireless system fits the purpose, that's why considering wireless option.
Also, it is easier to manage when away from home.

1. CCTV can use back the infra (RG59), just change the camera and decorder as you wish.
2. Wireless Alarm just get the one compatible with TUYA app platform. You can also choose Alarm with GSM.

since you are renovating, please lay the cable.
you can still choose to use wireless later

but dont lay cable now, cannot u turn jor.
from what i used before, those wireless alarms for my office. end up abandon

1. using obscure 12V remote control battery
2. operate at 433mhz  which is easily intefere with other people autogate.
3. you wont know if the sensor is alive or not. maybe test today it works, tomorrow battery dead.
4. very limited sensor types. eg the glass break sensor may not be as adjustable. wireless motion IR is impossible to due to the high power consumption.
5. almost no way to upgrade. if one sensor fail, very expensive to replace, if its even available.

Friend this is year 2020. They even have Sigmesh wireless alarm now.
And most of the those wireless sensors comes with battery/device status.

Is the decoder supporting online viewing via mobile apps?
If yes, will just upgrade with newer decoder and CCTV with better resolution.
Then replace wired alarm system to wireless which easier to manage.
I'm considering ONVIA or BLUGUARD wireless system.
Any feedback or review on the two brands? Or any recommendation for wireless system with good review?

1.Most of the decorder support online viewing via mobile apps. you can look for brand like HIKVISION or DAHUA etc

2. Wireless alarm you can look for 'TUYA SMART/ SMART LIFE Wireless WIFI/GSM ALARM' at SHOPEE or LAZADA. Definitely the PENG LENG CHENG solutions. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Onvia set is pricey compared to Tuya. Not sure if they are having similar quality, just the branding and packaging varies?

Sorry, what is Sigmesh version? Please explain as I'm new in this. Thanks!

Thanks for your feedback.
Are you using Dlink system? Any comment? Is it functioning well as compared to other wireless alarm system?
The price is quite affordable and seems good solution to connect all devices/sensors

I would not advised to used Dlink if resolution/quality is of importance. They are not a CCTV company so it's just run of the mill products like TPlink, oem from others.

The good thing is you can mix match different dlink under single login, foc 3 device 48 hours of recording, alarm function etc all pretty standard. Yes I’m using couple units and different premises as well. Quality of recording is good and can be downloaded to mobile or pc. So get rid of network onsite recording, all on cloud. Some camera u can have 2 way audio as well, you cant be wrong. So u need the camera, power supply and extend wifi using cheap repeaters and that will do just fine. We can setup this cheap reliable setup, or if budget is huge for more expensive setup but why would you do that right. Setup is easy, each unit have qrcode, scan using phone apps. More details or free advice just ask.

HK, Dahua, Tuya, everything is china product. But again, HK and Dahua is both the world leader in this industry.
