did anyhere purchase the HP Care Pack?

OK... i felt the warth of HP after sales service today.  I bought my TX with Care Pack last Fri.  Call HP today to check if they have already receive the registration.

I got push like 5 number.  I call this number, some one tell me its wrong nr. to call.  give me another nr.  then i call that nr. i still got the same story.  I call 5 nr., talk to 4 person and left a voice msg but i still cannot get the answer.  What the **** is up with HP?

Added on September 18, 2007, 1:52 pmi reali kenot believe this HP support service.  At least now when i call them, this nice guy can't help but do as much as he can.

My TX registered but not my care pack.  I have fax the form to them but as he claim, it take HP 2 weeks to update the care pack warranty extension in their system...!!! 2 weeks...!!!

its written on the care pack registration form to fax to HP between 10 days of purchase else void.  Now they will take 2 weeks to update.  U know, if all went well oso there is 4 days in dispute when Hp system may not register yet but i have already fax.

OK... enuff wif my rambling abt HP support.  Just a note for those who wanna buy this care pack from HP.  Apart from that, TX is behaving fine.

anyone else have rate theur vista experience??? i got oni 2.4 onthe TX.  Lowest in graphic.  what is everyone else score?

i went HP tower to buy the care pack with the price RM 300. how much have u bought the care pack? The staff there promise me will give me a notification letter about i have bought th care pack but 3 weeks already passed, i still haven't receive any letter from HP. Wtf, they took more than 3 weeks to do one document? Some more the staff there promise me that they will take a few days to send me a notification letter, but now already 3 weeks!!! Anyway, how do u check or how do u call them? pls let me know, i think i need to call HP as well as i still do not know my care pack already activate or not. pls provide me the step.

In conclusion, HP service is super suck for me. I still never satisfy about the service i got at the HP tower bukit damansara. Guys, pls do not believe at HP service. It disappointed me.

Try calling 1-800-88-8588. that is their Care Pack support line. I am not surprise you got pass aorund when you call this number. Else try 2332 3333 ext 2533. this is the care pack registration person. she might be able to help.

I got the same reply as you. Wait for letter. Mine is ony 3 days old, so i guess i'll have to wait (i hope its not 3 weeks).

Surprise isn't it,HP service sucks like this. I left a voice message at their support line. They only call back 2 days later and guess what, the lady again told me, she can't help me. I gotta call another number.

Go to Start - Control Panel - Welcome Centre - View Computer Details

Here you see the list of your TX details. Under system, you see if your OS is32 or 64 bits.

The lowest point i got is for graphic. I guess its due to the GF 6150. 2GB prob can't helpthis either. What about your other score?

Travies,
I think that is good deal. I miss the PC Fair. Probably in KL you can get something like that too.

I upgraded to 2GB RAM for RM200. The retailer took back my 512MB x 2.

Hi all!

I've got some question for all the owners of the tx1221AU... I plan to buy this model within these 2 weeks, so need to your help before i make the final decision...

Touch Screen

Most of the feedbacks seem to say that the touch screen is a let down. How is it a let down? What makes you say it's a letdown? If you are referring to the handwriting recognition, then i would like to clarify further...

when you write on the screen with the stylus provided, regardless of how pretty or not-so-pretty your handwriting is, does the screen capture your strokes (how u write the text) correctly and perfectly? cos handwriting recognition is (imho) divided into 2 stage...the first stage is capturing of the strokes..the second stage is to establish the pattern of the stroke to match a particular alphabet or word or number...

so when you say the touch screen is poor, does it mean that the capture of the stroke is not good (like maybe if u draw a straight line, on the screen u see the straight line with some blanks in between) ? if the capture of the stroke is not good, then maybe it's the hardware problem...

if the capture of the stroke is exactly what u wrote or drew, but the software couldn't recognize wat u wrote or drew, then i would think that it is a software problem...and maybe if we use different software, we might be able to get a better recognition?

so, is the touchscreen a let down because it couldn't capture your strokes correctly (hardware) or is it because it couldn't recognize what you wrote or draw (software)?

Another question for the touchscreen is this... err..this probably sounds like a stupid quetion, but anyway... does the touchscreen works when it is in the "laptop mode" (as oppose to the "tablet mode"). Can you write or draw or drag the windows around with the stylus when you use it as a laptop (with the screen open) or does it work only when you flip the screen around and close it like in the tablet mode?

Operating System

The tx1221AU i understand comes with Windows Vista Premium... any option to say no to the retailer and get further discount?

I've never used Vista before, only heard of it thus far n yday tried my hands on one vista business edition... i'm not very fond of it ler... and all the hoohaa over the aero interface... tat's a letdown for me ler tongue.gif

And have anyone tried installing linux (watever flavor doesn't matter, as long as have GUI) on the tx1221AU? how was the experience?? Does the touchscreen works in Linux?

Hope you all can help me with some answers here... Will really appreciate it!!!

Thanks!

actually, there's unauthorized dealer/just any normal pc and laptop shop that selling at 2999 and with many freebies. in my place(skudai,jb) there's a shop selling at 2999 with free 1 gb pendrive, free mouse, heat board and etc..

i upgrade mine to 2GB at rm220..they took my 2 x 512mb at rm100, and the 1gb(2piece) at rm320..so, i just topup rm220..

about the recognotion, i dun really know. but i looked in the overseas forum and found that the mat salleh said the recog mayb because of the stylus..the screen capture ur strokes if u write slowly and put a bit of pressure on it..yeah, the touchscreen works in both mode..

u cant get discount from let go the vista. cos the lappie is pre-installed in the hardisk of the lappie..1st time boot, it'll directly install the vista..plus, u dont get the vista cd..(damn MS )

Vista is ok..but u need a moment to learn it 1st la..but not much different..

i think u can install other OS, but remember, the touchscreen ONLY work on tablet OS-edition..eg : if u wanna install XP, u need to install the XP-tablet edition to make sure the touchscreen work..oso, u must know how to force the driver installation..i heard it's hard to install the driver if u not using the package given..u even have to force install it and mayb u'll get a bit pening when to do it..heh rclxub.gif

tx1221au is shipped with Win Vista Home Premium. Its all in the laptop sealed in the box. I dun think you can ask for a no IS version.

i have not try linux on TX and no intention of doing so. I suspect you'll have some problem with driver on linux.
