don get the yamaha rx-v1800 @ rx-v3800...not sound good...trust me go n get the onkyo tx-sr875, iu wont regret....trust me..cos i own it

Onkyo is under Hwee Seng now so spare parts and servicing will be a big problem because of Hwee Seng's past track record as a distributor. I have listened to Onkyo 705, sound a tad too bright for my taste, still prefer Yammy and Denon. You might have a different setup but Onkyo is not that compatible with my B&W speakers so I needed a more warm sounding AV amp.

Well, if you compare 875 to RX-V1800 / RX-V3800 then it's a little biased already b'coz both are from a different price range so it won't be fair comparison.

That's what I am trying to say. A new 2.4l Camry has different characteristic and better in many ways if to compare with a 1.6l Altis.

Not trying to snub you, splee. No hard feelings. Everyone here also wants to own SR875 and knew pretty well that it is better than the a lot cheaper 1800. But, money is an issue. sweat.gif

Yup, true enough, rather use the money to buy a Full HD LCD instead. tongue.gif

Then again, for someone who could afford SR-875, I believe the speakers are of at least upper mid-range to compliment the setup. Then again, the display would be impressive stuff too. I would say (if for me) the whole setup could be at least RM30,000

People across the Causeway can already make a reservation for 606 with expected delivery sometime in April.
Price is the same as the current price for 605, which is ard S$730.

Hmmm, I wonder if you're not fussed about having the new model, whether you could pick up a 605 at a very low clearance price.

What to do?
Buying AVR is just like buying PC... hehehe tongue.gif
The technology change very fast, that's why I rather spend big money on my stereo set-up rather than HT setup.

875 nia! With REON upscaler inside.

How much is the 875 rite now? The Reon upscaler chip is the best, better than DCDi and ABT for sure.

IIRC, based on the 605, you have to remove the plastic plug/stopper from the binding post before you can insert the banana plugs. A mini tweezer will do the job just fine.

Unless wireworld's banana plug is designed differently from the normal banana plugs.
