i dun even have a cd player with optical output to upgrade 

this issue had been solve since firmware version v1.04, n now the latest firmware version is v1.07 for 875 & v1.08 for 905.

just now when i go pump petrol suddenly got 1 van asking me if i am into home theater stuff , they got a lot of "branded" speaker for sales lol
i saw some onkyo's and yammy amp inside also but didnt ask the price . reminds me when i was in canada where another dodgy van approaches me to sell speakers  .anyone if u r around Bandar utama and Damansara area , u might see them 

yup, i own onkyo 875... n my firmware version is the latest one v1.07 & also DSP version also the lastest one...how to check the firmware version? just press & hold " display" button at the avr panel, not the remote then press" power" button, from there u can see the main firmware version, DSP version , hdmi & video version...for model 605,705 ,805 & 905, all can check through this way.. if ur 875 main firmware is below v1.07 & 905 is below v1.08, then u should upgrade the firmware.... n the most important thing, the onkyo just release the DSP firmware upgrade to solve the issue DTS-MA may damage ur speaker, so this new DSP firmware is to solve this issue..

the update is essential if u bitstream DTS-MA but if u never plan to bitstream then no need to update

haha ... I also no money ... just may be I look innocent ... so they thought I am a "Big Fish" 

I guess it may be due to its 'low' power output, which in turns a bit underpower to drive power hungry speakers ( maybe 6ohms with less than 87dB sensitivty)

by using the cd is to update the DSP firmware... by using the rs232 port is to update the main firmware...different thing..

I got some problem with my new 606. I couldn't get the S-Video or Composite signal to my Samsung LCD thru HDMI from my 606. I try setting the HDMI to 1080i, 720p or 480/576p, pass thru and auto but all doesn't work. Anyone know how to solve this problem? Also I couldn't get the OSD to dsiplay on my LCD. I already attached the composite cable from the 606 to the LCD as I know the 606 cannot display the OSD thru HDMI. Appreciate any helps.
