Erm, you mean the one that being sold by Tong Lee? Hard to give comment as I havent have the chance to audition 605. Given the tech advancement in this AV receiver, I guess it could possibly take over Sounstage' s task.
Btw, are you referring 'mid' as center speaker? I suggest you look for KEF to partner Cresta 10. Added on January 20, 2008, 2:43 pm QUOTE(tHeRiDdLeR @ Jan 10 2008, 11:25 PM) At RM3,150 and with those free stuffs, it is indeed cheap. Btw, care to share the performance of SR-705?This post has been edited by htkaki: Jan 20 2008, 02:43 PM |

Aiyoh...the more I hear the more confused I get. I thought I already made up my mind on 605 but now don't know already.......
Anyway, I found 1 set of Wharerdale Cyrstal (CR40x2, WH2 center and surround) for RM1680. Quite a good buy but not sure if can match the 605 or not because the shop only have Denon. This price is almost same like the Jamo 606. Another choice will be the Mordaunt Short Carnival 9 for RM2500. Which one will you go for? |

who said Denon 1508 cannot do PCM 5.1????
that's the most basic signal and with HDMI 1.3a...1508 should not be a problem handling PCM 5.1...even my very old Sony can do PCM 5.1 with analog connection..... QUOTE Denon's lower-priced receivers are similar, but there are some significant difference. The AVR-1508 and the AVR-1708 both offer dual HDMI 1.3a ports, but they're video-only ports, which means you'll need to make a separate connection for audio. The AVR-1908, on the other hand, offers true HDMI switching with audio, along with onscreen display, which both step-down models lack. The AVR-1708 and the AVR-1908 both feature Audyssey auto setup, along with upconversion to the component video output--the AVR-1508 is lacking both of these features. oh...sorry..their HDMI 1.3a is for video only...so funny but they can still do PCM 5.1 if connect through analog connection.... Make sure you're not watching Mr. Bean's Holiday on HD-DVD lah ...... DTS-HD or Dolby Digital also no difference. |
