You will get RM25 credit for Duo MasterCard once you activate the Duo MasterCard, SST is charged upon activation, so outstanding balance is RM0.00.

The key factor is where you pay the assessment tax.
If you pay at Government, the card machine is Government MCC, you won't get CB.

You know the MCC? If Government MCC (most likely if it is owned by DBKL, unlikely if it is a third-party service provider), no CB.

You may consider Pos Automated Machine (PAM), you top up e-wallet (eg Boost) then pay DBKL assessment (not sure if DBKL is one of the 35 local councils listed in PAM)!

Kastam rule.
1st SST - Card activation.
Subsequent SSTs - Anniversary date, doesn't matter the card is activated or not.

My experience many years ago (before 2010) - Yes for Affin Bank credit card, >6 months if I am not wrong. Now not sure.
But Affin Duo's T&C does mention, both Visa and Mastercard must be cancelled together.

Maybank don't give any reward/cashback since 28/8/2019. tongue.gif

Affin only give 3% cashback, not so attractive, Bigpay's CC top up max RM1000/month only.
