Conclusion, telco just wanna save cost for everything .
*
I have a feeling Celcom is doing that. However what they did instead, my gut feeling, they reduce the 3G transmit power, increase or allow 2G to have stronger power.

Other telcos, like Umobile, they just disable the 3G data (dammit doh.gif ) but leave the 3G voice signal on. So that the voice can fallback to 3G for the non VOLTE.

2G EDGE, is like 56K dial up era. Able to do simple browsing and quick Whatsapp but gotta have lots of patience. More like driving through kampung shortcut roads.

Please Celcom, dont sunset your 3G data. icon_question.gif

Don't forget Penang too
Later Genting later February 😋

Try putting up a night in Genting Permai. Dont need go all the way up.
On weekends and peak holidays, Umobile is congested. Even before Skyworld is launched.

just wondering, if my phone don't have signal at all inside house, but got 2 to 3 bar on 2G and 4G outside my house, will it be useful if i bought 2G booster and get 2G only signal in my house? just need to make call and sms, data can use home internet.

also, i heard that 4G booster have all kind of band number and not all booster will work with particular telco, but 2G usually will have all the band in the booster for all telco.

if ur telco support WiFi Calling then just go ahead for WiFi Calling
Currently Maxis / Digi / U Mobile is the only telco supporting WiFi Calling in Malaysia
When outside of Malaysia :
Maxis - Cannot use WiFi Calling (i think they implement geo restriction on their WiFi Calling server maybe)
Digi & U Mobile - Yes

Most of the devices including the free Yes Altitude 4 supports Digi WiFi Calling , not sure on U Mobile or Maxis but it should work

If staying alone, then, switch telco. Ask neighbors which telco they use or buy PRE-paid SIMpack to test all telcos...but be careful with MVNOs as some may have issue to receive TAC/MSOS code...

If staying with family or pax, booster is the best option but very hit-and-miss experience. Not all boosters is "genuine" to give significant results...

tried all telcos. unifi mobile used to be very good until CNY. celcom and u mobile hit and miss. digi totally no signal inside house, but once you step outside few feet from door, speedtest will show 50Mbps!!!! maxis? lost hope years ago everywhere, even if you go in front of their office in subang batu tiga, won't get any signal. no, not just 1 phone, we put sim card in 3 phones all no signal.

Well, you can made calls, send SMS and more while on WiFi calling mode (tested just now).

It is USSD services that will require 2G network to work.

Therefore, those who live in poor coverage area are advised to invest on a smartphone and use a network that supports VoWiFi (wifi calling) and also use an external antenna for 4G wireless broadband/ fiber internet rather than using illegal booster, which interferes cellular services.

Vowifi is godsend for those telco and phones that can use it. My Umobile is only 1 bar indoor but with Vowifi I have no worries. It's like having full bar inside the house.
