Any idea how come the Proton SC and outside shop battery reading is so different? This is not the first time, back in 2023 Proton reading was also significantly lower than outside shop reading.

Anyone else experienced the same? They make the reading be worse to sell batteries?

Back in June 2023, there was also a significant discrepancy.

Saw a new X50 on the road, indeed looks cool and fresh.
Wonder if X70 should also receive similar treatment soon.

Just to double confirm, Proton does not provide the physical owner's manual and service booklet anymore?

you guys know any walnut blasting on northern johor or melaka area?
wanna to clean throttle body or intake.

because sometime on traffic light, on auto hold D1 or N
car will vibrate with fixed interval, slightly giving it a little throttle/accelerator vibrate will gone for now.

at first i tot rpm dropped too low, but after observation..rpm still same.
changed sparkplug like 5K mileage ago, so i suspect throttle body or intake dirty now.

issue: it doesnt happen on every traffic light stop, so reproduce kinda hard as it random appear
*
update on these situation.
just now replaced alternator pulley, it seem like the random vibrate 'solved', drive 40~50km stopped few traffic light seem like the vibrate almost not exist(back to normal feeling)
100% not sparkplug as i switched to original plug weeks ago and not solving that vibrate.

tldr: alternator pulley fault.

will update after days of use.

Edit:
I did notice my right side engine mounting (driver side) sink slightly, probably one of the reason the vibrate i mention previously transfer into cabin
still observing until i change the timing/fan belt..will change that mounting together too.

if either one or both doesnt come with car, just ask the SC. most likely they forgot to put it. or take out to record and forgot return it

pulley loose. i am fine with it as it just 50~60 per unit, if i free i can even change it myself.
if 4cyl using the same alternator...most likely issue will be there.

i think and hope for a different type of alternator. cz on 1.8T engine, almost no issues related to alternator or battery flat prematurely, except some make noise cz their battery flat after 15-19months usage for CKD x70. Technically, the CKD uses a smaller battery than a CBU model and much2 cheaper to change.

And a few shops shared videos on how to repair or solve the issue with the 1.5T alternator, by changing some pulley materials inside

Hi everyone,

I've been facing a strange and worrying issue with my car, and I'm hoping someone here might have experienced something similar or can offer some advice.

Whenever I turn on the air conditioning, a few moments later smoke starts coming out from the engine bay. When I check, there's water everywhere around the area below the A/C compressor, and there's a strong unpleasant smell. After this happens, the A/C stops blowing cold air.

At the same time, the engine behaves oddly, it feels like it's in "power mode" (very responsive throttle) even though I'm in normal driving mode. The RPMs or engine sound seem off when I lightly press the accelerator. However, this strange behavior goes away after a while.

I brought the car to a Proton Service Centre, but they couldn’t find any clear issue. They diagnosed the air conditioning system, did a refrigerant flush, and refilled it with new gas. Everything seemed normal again, cold A/C and no weird sounds, until I switched off the engine and restarted it. Right after restarting, the same engine behavior returned, and the second time I turned on the A/C, water gushed out again, followed by smoke in the engine bay.

I believe the "smoke" might actually be steam from water evaporating off hot engine parts, but I'm not entirely sure.

Has anyone encountered this kind of issue before, with water or refrigerant leaking, strange engine behavior, and a temporary loss of A/C cooling? Would really appreciate any insights or suggestions
