I’m going over to my nearest Proton showroom to book one today smile.gif
Just wondering when I book Flagship variant, does it mean I am going to stick to that until loan approved ? Or I can change my option to Premium later on if anything ?

Usually how long does bookings open for? 1-2 months?

Personally, don't feel the rush to make the booking yet as I'm not 100% decided on the colour and would prefer to take a look at the car this Saturday first... tongue.gif

But if there's a quota, for example first 10k bookings = Batch 1, subsequent 10k bookings = Batch 2, then I think there might be more urgency to book quickly sad.gif

i believe booking is dealer based. definitely not nationwide under same booking, that is very hard to manage. They send the car to dealership based on quota also. So if u go big dealer u might get ur car sooner, but big dealer means more booking in queue. So sometimes small dealer less booking then then easily next is ur queue already. This is what i knew from SA. Why queue not nationwide, because the people spread around the states, let say 1st booking is in KL, 2nd in penang, 3rd in sarawak, impossible they send only 1 car to this dealer then next dealer another car, then later send sarawak, like tat logistic nightmare and the logistics cost lol.

so when booking u go the dealer u ask them how many booking ahead lo. like tat easier gauge ur chance. if only 10 booking ahead then u can get ur car soon, if 100-200 queue already maybe u go other dealer faster lol. so best is if u have SA in proton.

my gf (soon to be fiance) want to have a SUV b-seg, and keep say HRV better than x50 due to honda, japanese car, more reliable bla bla bla. looking at proton like low level like that...i'm so keen to have x50 but gf (w/o car knowledge) keep have those "listen parents/fren say" mentality, making the purchase of x50 is very impossible...

While im getting a D seg sedan in future

worst come to worst if she has bought HRV, I wouldn't be happy and I wouldn't drive/sit that car tbh

go to facebook and look for the following groups and show your gf

1) Honda Owners Club (Technical Problems)
2) I Will Not Buy Another Honda Malaysia (iWN-BAHM)

Go read there... only honda has group like this, not toyota or other cars. their reliability is not what it used to be.

thx for sharing. I'm surprise that toyota doesn't have this sort of FB group? meaning they're not so many major issue after all?

Hope this really can change my gf mind.

I know each car has it's own fault but need to scrutinize what's the probability, meaning 5 out of 10 cars has issue, then it's gonna be a problem. If 1 out of 10 cars, maybe just unlucky.

If that's the case, any smaller dealers you can recommend in KL?

Can refer your SA to me ? I called proton hotline asking which showroom I can book X50, they tell me it’s closed today due to holiday and ask me to call again tomorrow 😂😂

Hold on, took booking since August ? I thought official announced no booking unless Proton make it official otherwise all scam ?
*
I PMed you

Some SA took the initiative to take bookings early however it is not recognised by Proton.

For these guys who booked earlier, the SAs just registered the bookings officially starting today

Asked my China friends' opinion on this car. They said, if buy, use 3-4 years or 100K km, then sell it off.
Most of the problems comes after that.

Binyue in China was launched in Q4 2018, now it is only 2 years since the launching. How do they know what will happen in the 3rd and 4th year?

Keen to actually visit a showroom to see an actual unit but not too sure on where I can go. Is there any detail out yet regarding this?
