Just want to share some info regarding wind noise in X50.
There are 2 types of wind noise:
(1) High pitch whistling noise
- Source: Tweeter area
- Not all X50 experience this issue, if you do not hear any whistling noise, good for you.
- Solution: Bring this issue up to your preferred SC, they will insert foam/sound insulation material in your tweeter,
FOC. I did mine at Proton Kelana Jaya, no whistling noise now. If you want to DIY, then you can refer to earlier comment where someone shared on putting 2 layers of rubber seal at the front of the door panel, but might abit of an eye sore if you notice it (and that's just my opinion. might look fine to you).
(2) Wind turbulence (I might be wrong about the term here, but I can try to describe the noise that sounds like you're at the beach), when you are driving at >80 or >100 km/h
- Source: Upper side of the window, caused by wind turbulence from side mirror (reportedly by members)
- ALL X50 experience this
- Solution: No official solution as of now, but there are news that Proton has found a solution and will implement this tentatively September 2021.
- Temporary aid to the issue shared by members (reduce wind noise (2) slightly only, do not expect big improvement):
i) Install door seal along your door frame / silicon tubing in your door rubber seal
- Idea is to making it air tight, preventing wind seeping into the cabin while driving at high speed
ii) Install aero fins / vortex generators / fairing body kit on the outside of the triangular side mirror frame.
- Idea is to create vortex, deflect wind slightly downwards
iii) Install visor
- Someone shared installing these will reduce wind noise, but I'm not sure are they referring to wind noise (1) or (2). But installing visor will create another case of wind turbulence, I personally do not recommend this (but who am I to recommend stuff?), so you can of course try them if you are curious and willing to.
iv) Inserting sponge and better tape at the front and at the top end of the door panel rubber wrap
So if you encounter ppl sharing solution in Facebook, to insert insulation material in your tweeter to solve the wind noise, take note it will only solve the whistling noise, not the turbulence noise. Cheers

Just came upon this post on Google and I just collected my wife's x50 and was told until now no solution to the wind noise from driver side.
Regards.
