QUOTE(chubbyqq @ Mar 3 2022, 10:32 AM) If in doubt, i will suggest dont buy.but if you from X50 chinese group. i suggest less refer their opinion, not constructive at all. because: - when there a car got random issue (whatever the issue is). next thing will happen, a lot people appear 'claim' they have similar issue. but this time you try click in profile that so-called claim got same issue, you will know mostly just hater or troll - every car have their own problem, esepcially ativa/x50 make car overall more complex. but people look it like 30 years ago proton saga, where nothing electronic inside (maybe ac pun tiada?) - for more 'serious' issue, i think is the engine kong. so far i heard is 4 unit from 20K+ x50. 1 of it is Flagship, engine con rod not sure break or detached and break the engine. - other just minor issue here and there, and I repeat: if in doubt, dont buy. |

I think the biggest concern is if you got into a accident, the X50 will spend quite some time in the SC due to limited spare parts .
Some argue you can get your car fixed in non-proton workshops but I think proton wont honor the warranty anymore (dont quote me on this). That's a big IF - but still a valid concern nonetheless. I booked a premium but will cancel my order soon and will consider again in future if the spare part situation improves. Saving the few K for SST seems like a good idea at first but I can't afford to have it sitting in the SC if something unfortunate happens because I will be trading my car in. Lastly, please bear in mind that for every issue that you read in FB, there's many more owners who are satisfied with their purchase. Like the josh5671 mentioned, if in doubt, don't buy. |

QUOTE “The first step is to address the availability of parts and we have implemented a mandatory requirement where all dealers are required to have three months holding stock of 22 fast moving parts. Our central parts centre is also subject to the same requirement, and we hope this will ease waiting times for customers. We are also strengthening the capability and knowledge of our dealers to provide excellent after sales service to all Proton customers. There is still a lot left to do but we will give updates on our progress throughout the year,” added Roslan Abdullah. https://www.wapcar.my/news/proton-we-are-ta...ait-times-42109 |

QUOTE(zero5177 @ Mar 2 2022, 04:48 PM) Which variant is yours? Flagship sound louder because of the Direct Injection. But while idling I don't hear any sound when in the car, of course all windows closed. Standard Another possibility could be your parking surrounded by walls the sound is reflecting back to the cabin. A quick check would be the engine oil dipstick should be atleast around 3bar on flat surface with cold engine. |

Anyone have recommendations for interior compartment mats? The ones I saw on Shopee/Lazada all have the "X50" branding on them. Or would it be better to wrap the interior?

QUOTE(ApexEnthusiast @ Mar 6 2022, 12:17 AM) Standard The current EO supplied by SC is the Petronas 5W-30 (GF-6A) spec oil based on the x50 manual. Previously it was using the Shell 0W-20 EO which I am currently using at my last service on 30 Sept 2021. I supposed it would be best if you could use the exact same EO supplied by SC. However if you would like to buy it from the big petroleum companies here in Malaysia, I only managed to find EO from Caltex with 5W-30 (GF-6A) spec while all other (ie. Shell, Petronas, BHP, Petron etc) either incompatible or still using the old GF5 spec oil as found from their website. |
