It takes me 3 months to get my car, order on mid-Sept 2021, got it on mid-Dec 2021.

took the car from Shah Alam branch Rahman Brothers.
*
got mine from same branch, 1 month (booked mid-Dec 2021, car already at showroom as of today mid-Jan 2022), kinda surprised tbh

I use those maggie mee coil.

Heard from accessory shop that Trapomat will curve a little after long exposure to heat, but he only sell coil mat, so he could be just twisting stories.

Any Trapomat owner can give review?
*
can confirm, trapo ends up curving after a long period of time
my wife likes it, i dont but what to do tongue.gif
i still prefer maggie coil one

I also prefer basic coiled mat.
My car came with proton mat.
The thing i dont like it, is it got teeth-ed underneath.
Quite sharp to hold it... So when you try to wash.... Finger pain af.

also came across this
https://www.xda-developers.com/motorola-ma1-pre-order/
might be good to use with Android Auto, might order one later to test out with the modded qdlink app and AA

hi guys, just getting my White FS either today or tomorrow or Monday smile.gif
looking for recommendations for a place for Tint and Dashcam around Shah Alam/Subang area, might take a trip to EA if I get it tomorrow (Sat) for other stuff.

Previously just did the cheap stuff on my old cars but now want to invest a little for the long term

Been reading that 3M usually does well?
*
What you plan to do at EA icon_idea.gif

Initially I plan to get Tint for 3M Crystalline, in the end I ended with IrisPro UV Pro 90 series which gives 100% UV 420 rejection + 94% IRR after installed (meter test)

So far pretty satisfied with the performance

Going for test drive tomorrow. Been considering quite a while to get it. Most probably will get white and wrap it and delete the chrome color. Flagship series the one I am interested

Advises required from x50 owners/sifus:

1. What accessories are must have and nice to have? E.g.
MUST HAVE
- car mat (coil mat), don't like trapo
- power boot and leg kick sensor (but I worry later void certain warranty if get from outside, any advices?)
zero5177 I install my tailgate at their center without urban/utility package, just the tailgate alone at higher price than accessories shop 2.3k, but in return I won't have my warranty disturbed.

- car wrap, probably pearl white cover and black top with other areas as black. Grey/silver chasis perhaps
- zero5177 door guard & door handle guard
- zero5177 boot tray

NICE TO HAVE
- Shopee - Car Mount Phone Holder
- Infotainment Screen Protector

2. What to do when collect car? (Besides the ones in 1st tered)
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

- Release tyre pressure to lower it to normal (most of the cars received are 290-300)
-

3. Other concerns
- I use Spotify and Waze a lot but they have their own GKUI, how do u guys make it work for Spotify and Waze? Paiseh I noob
zero5177 Waze you can use QDLink some sort of screen mirroring, and if its Android u can use the touchscreen to operate
zero5177 Spotify need to bluetooth audio and play in phone
pizzaboyj https://github.com/weljoan/qdlink-android
LaiN87 It’s basically your phone is running the Android Auto. It’s just mirroring to your car screen.

- I was driving 2010 Vios, too many damn buttons for new cars. Using just manual given enough? Or got any online link/youtubes for guides. A lot jargons I don't get or know how it works.
- Sunroof will leak water?
zero5177 My sunroof so far no leak and so far in this group no report of leaking as well.

- Need infotainment screen protector?
- Do Proton package provide front and rear dashcam? Or need to go to accessory shop get their help to assemble

Credits to: zero5177 for some of the info

Share some ideas from EA to us icon_idea.gif

I did my tinted at Puchong near Lotus by the LDP highway, about 1.3k vs the quote I got for Crystalline is about 2.4k if not mistaken

-Can consider some door guard & door handle guard, I got those door guard strip type.
-And Boot tray to me is a must.

As for the checks, just make sure u check everything including those plastic pieces, but most of the time because we are not familiar with the car, we may miss a thing or 2 which we only realize later, but those probably small issue. The SA will have a check list to check everything for you, just make sure all functions works and parts are aligned without weird gaps, and check for possible scratch surface as well.

Waze you can use QDLink some sort of screen mirroring, and if its Android u can use the touchscreen to operate

Appreciate the comments man, I edited my post for tracking. I saw some issues are the spare parts shortage. if got problem want to claim warranty need to wait long time. Is that true?

Spare parts shortage was a problem for Geely based car, but is that improved recent? I'm not sure.. but it does appear that I hear less of "no spare parts" complain recently, either ppl not sharing or it is really reduced.

Modded QDLink apk file, should allow you to run Android Auto I think, but wired(?)
I don't really see a guide from anyone here, once I get my FS I'll see if I can put together a guide, Android Auto is a big "Plus" for me if I can get it to work somehow

I tried before premium with 4 adults, power more than sufficient even before car finish breaking in. Didn't even on sport mode and doesn't feel like climbing hill for me 😆

alamak.. i just tested the fs today and felt quite good with it. Now I will have to go into the reconsideration hell all over again hahahaha. thanks for your input bro! If mpi enough power already then... hmm.gif but the sunroof shiok la aiyoo..

I don't think the engine output can be a concern, you are still getting one of the Most powerful SUV in market.

I get fs mainly for the FCW, ICC and you are right, MPI engine might save you some unforeseen carbon cleaning when mileage shoots up, although Proton claim their test car doesn't have much carbon deposit after long mileage, let's take their claim as a pinch of salt.
*
true2. but i wish i could at least test drive it. today managed to test drive fs from rahman brothers. ut the nice ICC tech seems interesting considering I always go thru jam on highway. hmmmm 10k difference not that big right haha

QUOTE(laytiong @ Jan 21 2022, 05:41 PM)
power is not lacking or wanting, its jz the initial "lag" is present. once RPM builds up, power is sufficient till 160kmh on flat road where it starts to run out of steam again for premium. besides not everyone does full load genting runs on daily basis
*
i felt that initial lag today while test driving but was a fs. I was waiting to enter roundabout but there were so many cars. So I wanted to just step and go but it picked up speed too slowly and i wasnt confident until there was enough space for me to enter before the next car arrives. Is it called throttle response? I drive a proton waja and really seldom experience such a thing, as in when i wanna go, the car will GO. Not go as in speeding go, but, GO. So that gve me more confidence when enter roundabout, especially when so many cars.

Technically all people reply what i need to say lol.

Just conlusion, do whatever you feel affordable and feel safe to do.
If you in doubt on any item warranty, just skip it.
Even some SC accept minor change, but not mean all accept

So far my car have installed:
-sequential side mirror signal
-sequential fog lamp DRL with signal
-rear sequential reflector signal and brake light
-dashcam
-DSP

The only 'complain' from proton mechanic on 1k service (10k service next week) is dashcam fuse plug into wrong port, make them routine chack of OBD cant read shit.
They unplug dashcam fuse and tadaa obd work.. So they ask me to fix it.

Other then that all just fine.

This. Definitely this.

Can we make a petition or some sort for Proton to allow some kind of "controlled/restricted" APK sideloading? Afaik the Geely version of GKUI allows that by doing some dialling combination from the Dial app.

If we can get this to work, sideloading the famous AutoKit.apk will allow us to use a 3rd party Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto dongle which is now widely sold online to get the full experience of these tech.

Such a shame Proton subcon their infotainment R&D to some incapable and lousy tech company sigh....
