Not complaining anyway, it is how DCT works mechanically and I'm totally fine with that.

Same with X50 it tends to skip Gear 1 even on a steep hill.

If say Proton/Geely did a fix to reduce low speed drag, which possibly by applying throttle, that would affect FC pula.

We get something and lose something. I came from MT, this low gear drag on X50 is very acceptable VS controlled by human at Gear 1 or 2 you need to be quite skilled to be able to smoothen these drags without disengaging the clutch.

I remember back then on vw forum, on of the way to prolong the dct, clutch, mechatronic is by selecting manual mode to D2 when stop & go situation.

Believe all new dct on vw already set up to skip D1 now on most cases. Since 1.8T is based on vw engine, doubt the Geely dct also copy paste of vw dsg

Is there a reason why you guys don't use it?
What would your advice be for someone buying it for the main reason it can autopark?

Hi there,
I'm a big fan of autonomous tech and L2 autonomous driving was why I bought it over anything in the price range; but the autopark doesn't cut it. I have even tried it on higher end imported cars and it's mostly a hit and miss. For my X50, I feel its about 20%-30% success rate (anecdotally).

This is because it works 1) only when between 2 cars (i.e. doesn't work in empty parking garage), 2) most of the time it doesn't detect the lot fast enough and you have to drive quite a bit in front of the lot before the prompt comes up, 3) when attempting to autopark, sometimes it tries to park at a non-existent lot (e.g. between two poles/columns), or may give up in the middle of the autopark and ask you to take over.

So from this, the X50 reviewers are correct in that it's not very useful yet.

I would say this: if you are very patient and want the autopark to work, it probably will. If you prefer to park faster, then you will probably manual override. Would recommending testing in a showroom to find out.

Good luck thumbup.gif

Anyone find out how to avoid the "clunk" noise when autohold takes over or the X50 auto brakes during ICC? It's quite obvious and jarring.. wondering if can put some sort of foam or tape to make it quiet..

Wont really work as someone explain earlier it doesnt detect parking line but detect space between 2 cars instead.

I wont use autopark because of

1. Slow
2. Parking space must been between 2 car
3. If either car senget, the X50 will park senget as well (not following parking lines)
4. Nerve wrecking, moving the car till the sensor give long beeps/too close to other car or object

Wait until the technology is matured more. The x50 autopark is a gimmick, it is not really working yet.

Oh yes!!!!!!! 1 billion times more useful than autoparking, it really makes parking much much easier. And the 360 camera works excellent.

I can't imagine living in a world without 360 camera now. All my future cars MUST have 360 camera; don't need autoparking but need 360. bruce.gif

Hi all, just to check when I test drive I notice the 360 camera video doesn't seem high res. Can we change the camera to higher res? Not sure if anyone have done it.
