*
Last time no mention of X50 getting it, but this time the source said coming to X50 soon OTA update.

While for Android Auto / Carplay hmm.gif

And for those who almost wanna pay for the mod might need to hold your horses.

I am wondering if I install power tail gate + kick sensor outside proton will my warranty being void?
*
CEO said will void,
how strict they are on this during implementation that's another story, just remember they can always void your warranty based on that, it is up to them to decide if they want to do that or not.

From the past Proton is being quite loose in term of warranty claim, but not sure about now.

What they offer is kinda expensive compare to outside.
*
You may opt for Ala Carte for just the power tailgate.

I got mine at about 2.3k from my SA with receipt installed from their 3S center, still pricier than offering from outside, but at least I got myself some peace of mind.

Maybe can nego with my SA but i just got update from SA need to wait 5 to 6months now  rclxub.gif
*

I waited 11 months, almost a year rclxub.gif

But I think regardless what car you opt for now will also take months to deliver (I'm referring to those common choice for this price range)

If you've made the decision, at least the countdown started from now.

Any insight on the price after SST?

11 months? wow. is pretty long.

Nope. insight on the price after SST. if order now still SST exemption according to my SA
*
I ordered a month after the official launch, buyers around that time have similar waiting time unless u got good connection with capable SA.

But I'm not in a rush to get car that time + MCO and stuff don't really mind. I think the timing just right for me when market is opening up I just got my car for the 1st 1000km run in and then straight off long distance travel rclxm9.gif

Can ala carte one? I thought must go with their package
*
Actually my SA proposed Ala Carte to me, er... more like he force the Ala Carte on me using the popular phrase of "it was installed from factory"

But I don't really mind that since I get to get rid of all those other unnecessary item.

I think it really depend on outlet and SA, mine were from Lesydear.

Ok thanks for the quick response. Looks like this X50 is selling like hot cupcakes yeah. Demand overwhelms the supply. Up to 12 months waiting period? Damn..

This thread is over 200 pages, too many to scroll and check on the reviews of the car. Just browsed through few pages and mostly are talking about the HU or app only. Anyway, it's OK. I guess there are videos on Youtube on this X50 and one of the complaints is on the wind noise at certain speed. Not too sure if they have found a solution. Havent' read about any complaints on rattling noise inside the cabin and suspension yet.
*
Pros and Cons depends how much you know about the car and its donor.

To me it doesn't meet my requirement because I know they took out quite a few thing from the Original Binyue like its 360 recording function, ambient light & paddle shifter.

But realistically compared with what we have in the market currently, try sit in similar price range SUV, the rest feels like a downgrade, even the reviewer said this with their first impression comparing with X1, so still the best choice we can have.

Biggest cons is of course it is a China Car that some people do not trust and combo with a Proton logo that its rakyat hate. That's why you'll see a lot complaints on X50 feature which people do not complaint about when it is on other car. Like example 3 Cyllinder & Turbo charged on other car all ok je no complaints, but when it's on a Proton X50 bash like the engine can give you free OSIM massage, while in reality the 3 Cyllinder on the X50 is much more refined compared to the rest of them, oh and suddenly CVT become more superior pula compared to our DCT. Now I'm waiting to see comment on the new reduced boot space of the new HRV, when X50 launched people bash its 330L boot space like no tomorrow.

saw youtube for the rear sunroof case on the new HRV kinda manual cover. WTH they choose this type, why not make it like others using an auto-powered sunroof cover. but again, foresee HM will bring sunroof feature on our market
*
Don't worry, by that time Sunroof suddenly become not an issue anymore, like magically no worries on leaking, no worries on hot sun and chances to see people could claim the "manual shade" is better than X50 because less electronics dependent thumbsup.gif

I wonder those cache intensive app like Youtube when cache built up how do we clear the cache? The storage wasn't too big to begin with, might slow down the HU when it accumulates.

Enough la with those attention these people. Just enjoy quietly.

Create so much attention later Proton gonna do some you.know.what.they.will.do

You know there'll be these scumbags jamming up the HU with plenty of app to show off then later only complaint to Social Media/Proton their HU very slow and u know what gonna come next from Proton.

I'm actually referring to the sponsored app from the RM350, this is spreading to even people out of the group already.

Try your luck, usually accessories cover only 1 year, but who knows for Proton, need to check with them.

Completed my 2nd service (10,000km / 6 mths) last week, but Proton service center told me that the Engine Oil Filter and some gasket/plug was not in stock. They suggest I proceed with the service and replace in the next scheduled service in 6 months time.

Anyone else faced the same? Is this an issue to withold the replacement by 6 whole months?
*
Oil filter should change together with Engine oil, usually engine oil able to held good amount of mileage, it is the Filter that get dirty first.
Gasket plug is ok to reuse most of the time, when we service outside they usually reuse gasket plug.

Guys, when is it useful to drive on ECO or SPORT mode?

Generally speaking, on free flowing roads where I travel at a smooth pace around 70 - 110 km/h (and even on roads with jam where traffic is stop-start), I don't find ECO mode to offer appreciable/noticeable improvements in mileage.
*
To me I treat those mode more for drive style.

If trunk road need overtaking I will switch to sport for better response

Normal mode when I may need a little more power on normal drive.

Eco mode for the smoother ride especially when I ferry passengers who prefer comforts.

I use Eco mode for most of my daily drive, to me Normal and Sport are often used for long distance drive which might require overtaking cars or going uphill etc.

You used eco mode most of the time? I have not really try the other modes been drove normal mode for the past one week only.

Yeap, I use eco mode most of the time at town driving, seldom need that much of power, it felt more smooth and subtle.

There's some teaser on Atlas OS for X50 from Pauline web, looks good and promising.

Question remains : all these efforts enough to replace Android Auto/Carplay?

Just to update after drove my car for a week.

1. Tinted done for one week only and rear windscreen already got bubble, what a luck. So bring back and ask them to redo. Quick question-need to wait for how long for me to send my car to wash, not even wash for once everyday raining oi.

2. Still looking for coating option, or maybe just go for full front ppf.

3. I find getting down from the driver seat a little bit uneasy due to the side of the seat. Anyone experience the same, for those who picked either premium/fs variant, do you guys use any seat cover to rectify this problem?
*
Sorry to respond late on this one :-

1. I wash on my own, it depends on color, my Silver last me about 2-3 weeks each wash. Reason why I wash on my own is less swirl and cleaner, those normal car wash often missed those angled part as u know our car body shape quite angled.

2. Initially planned for this, then I just decided to wash on my own every 2-3 weeks, get a better car wash & wax shampoo.

3. The seat design is made to support the passenger, semi bucket seat gives a lot support when cornering and you will feel more safer & lesser body roll, the downside of Course is slightly harder to get on/off car, but being an SUV this car is pretty easy to get on already compared to those really low sedan like Civic. Those car that came without semi bucket design are mostly older or more budget friendly car.

Is this coming to ALL X50?

If yes, how will it be installed? Auto or manual?
*
Yes all X50

I think we should have choice to not accept the update? (Probably need us to update manually via headunit setting)
