Hi, guys. Just wondering can anyone point me to the right direction. One of the Cherry red switch on my Ducky One 2 Horizon malfunction. I got a new One 3 as need to use keyboard for work purposes. But since only 1 key died, any way to repair it? Already out of warranty as I got it from a local distro that went bust and in 2018.

I have another Razer keyboard with cherry blue key. All switches works perfectly but got double type issue; press once but 2 identical pop up. Wish to repair it too if possible.

Thank you.

I just like the colours of GMK Mecha 01 as I'm a Gundam/Figurine collector previously.

Paying RM500 is better than getting 2nd hand as the price for 2nd hand is over RM1k

right, if you liked it just go ahead. new sets are cheaper, because after-market price are usually targeted to collectors.

It's keyreative being keyreative. Initial ship date was October 2020. There have been at least 2 rounds of refund offers from vendors to buyers who want to cancel. Second refund offer came when they switched to double shot without first informing the designer...

oh what's the original printing technology? double-shot and triple-shot are relatively better imo.

for printing technologies, i stick to double/triple-shot and dye-sub only. however, dye-sub is vulnerable to physical scratches by hard objects. just be careful when dye-sub key caps are used, especially when you pull them out of drawers. i have a set of cheapo multi-side thick dye-sub set that i like. few key caps were scratched when i didn't pay attention enough haha (the set is cheap, but it's unobtainable now)

in terms of typing feel, especially when you're used to touch typing, there are plenty of good but cheap cherry-profile alternatives. they might not be pretty, but their physical characteristics are ok to make good typing feels. (cheap sets have their own issues like increased chance of warped keys; overly tight/loosed stem holes; etc. however, most of the times, these issues are fixable, and don't affect usage)

KAT Atlantis was initially supposed to be dye sub. Doubleshot samples look good though.

I tried to like Cherry profile. I daily drove a DMG clone set for a few weeks, went back to KAT. If only keyreative wasn't such a shit show.

from the look of samples, i think it's a good choice that they decided to switch to double-shot. as i suspected, such a colorway requires multi-side dye-sub, which is less optimal due to the potential risks of being scratched.

just pick the best profile for your own comforts. i stick to cherry profile because it's the most comfortable profile for me.

Biggest complaint is it is too low. Sound-wise it also loses out to KAT. I love my thock, and so far nothing beats KAT on thockiness. Profiles I've tried for more than a few weeks are KAT, Cherry, ASA (Akko), OEM. Short term I've tried Domikey SA.

now i got the picture. i think you prefer high-pro/tall key caps, like sa, mg those. what do you think about domikey sa?

as for sound, high-pro key caps also provide relatively 'thocky' sound, compared to lower profiles imo. (it's more than that. keyboard sound is affected by the board and external stuff like deskmat. in terms of a board, parts like switch, case, plate type, keyboard construction, and modifications, also contribute to sound profile)

yeah i have gone through a list of key cap profiles as well. eventually most of them are in the store room haha

Domikey SA was....disappointing. Quite thin compared to KAT, so the sound was very ticcy and not thocky. Lol. Oh and the 2.25/2.75U spacebars wouldn't even mount on my C3 stabs.

I use a custom 2 piece acrylic plate for my main board that fills up the whole 5mm PCB->switch gap (1.5mm + 3.5mm). With Boba U4T and KAT keycaps, already very thocky. If it weren't for my numpad I'd be very happy with it.

My numpad uses 1.5mm+3mm and a layer of PE foam a la Jelly Epoch. With Boba U4T and KAT keycaps, Thocks for days.

Never tried tape mod though. I have another project in the works and can't be bothered to modify my daily driver for now.

Maybe if I see a good deal for MT3 (I keep missing the BOGO, or the sets I want are not included in the offer) I will give it a try. But on paper I think it should be pretty much the same as Akko ASA. Which to be fair was pretty good to me. Just the 2U backspace sounded very hollow. Probably could have fixed it with some foam, but switching back to KAT was easier. tongue.gif
