I gather because my 1st attempt was trying to buy the limited quantity ASM funds. I'm a self-taught noob, don't know cannot open account without buying units. So I said okay lo, how about buying equity funds? Can you recommend how to get started? She's like eh adik pergi baca sendiri la. Ini nak beli ke tak, bukan untuk Q&A. I got fed-up & left LOL.

The wealth management industry in Malaysia is super-ripe for disruption to take this unpleasant experiences out of the way. BTW, i dumped RM6k in already. Let's see returns after 1 month.

Of course, buying from Raiz is cheaper; lower annual management fee of just 0.3% pa compared to buying directly from PNB that needs to fork out 1% pa.

Don't quote me. I didn't open any account with Raiz.

I'm confused!  confused.gif

By buying from Raiz, there's no need to pay an annual management fee of 1% p.a for the said fund?

I thought the annual management fee s accrued daily and reflected in the fund daily published fund price.
*
Can someone enlighten me on this as well? Are you sure the 1% p.a. is waived? Because the management fee should be accrued daily like what GrumpyNooby said right?

In that case, isn't it paying 1.3% management fee?

Believe that to be the case. Raiz is investing on your behalf as an advisor; they absorb whatever fees ASNB would levy traditionally on any prospective buyer. The difference here I believe as to how Raiz can afford to charge such a low management fee (which I suspect for now is predatory to win the market) is because they have a JV through with PNB. This collaboration of technology owner directly with the funds owner allows for a removal of some element of costs that could be attributable to digital optimisation of processes. Who knows (or a sifu can enlighten); maybe the reason why all this while the costs are super high have been due to inefficient practices of fund management.

my take is....

Account Fee payable is 0.30% per annum of the Raiz Investment Account
This Account Fee is to cover the cost of administering your Raiz Investment Account.

your Raiz investment account portfolio consisted of various ASNB funds

The mgmt fees of 1% is to manage the holdings inside each ASNB fund...charged by ASN

just like for example...if subscribe to FSM conservative portfolio will have 0% sales charge but will incur Portfolio Management Fee 0.50% per annum, charged on a quarterly basis...this Portfolio Management Fee is charged by FSM for the mgmt of your portfolio

inside the conservative managed portfolio consisted of many funds...the mgmt fees of these individual fund are charge by the individual FHs for the management of those funds and the price has already being reflected in the daily NAVs

LOL i've been found out i guess? no la not a sifu, also learning everyday via experimenting. anyways guys got any way to easily track daily ASNS1 & ASNE3 funds prices? Already negative right off the bat with 2% loss lol. I sincerely hope with tracking down the price history its due to unit price sliding & not sales charge being hidden xD

I still think it is charge 1.3% p.a. because the valuation price is already factored in the accrued charges and published to public, unless they say they rebate and refund it back to our account. What's the point of paying 0.3% additional p.a.? unless it is for short term hit and run purpose which you dont want to pay any sales charge.

the FBM KLCI dropped about 4% - 5% in the last 2 weeks. I guess that's why.

Just put in RM 6k into the app in a Conservative Portfolio which is the closest thing I had before this. 80% in Sara 1 and 20% in Equity 3.

Made RM 1.29 so far and will see where this app goes about a month from now

Got question to ask, is that no matter how much amount in profile, it will keep deduct RM1.50 for every month below RM6k correct?
