i mainly use it to watch netflix, hence i looking for more convenience setup and also i choose this 2 is because of the HDMI ARC feature, which i would like to setup once and just click and play movie whenever i watch movie.

you want convenient that doesnt take much space , then suit yourself and go ahead with those option.
people only want to tell you that those setup doesn't felt much worth it

There are eARC (enhanced ARC) and ARC.

If your TV is just ARC, I don't think you will get Atmos data over to the soundbar even if the soundbar got Atmos support. Only high end TV got eARC.

agree...unless TS TV is new TV with eARC support... by then only can have Dolby Atmos from Netflix... until TS upgrade TV.. just buy any suitable soundbar..and use TOSlink(optical cable).. you will get Dolby Digital plus 5.1 audio...

I encourage you to just walk into the larger Harvey Norman outlets and give those display soundbars a listen. Besides Sony, LG, Samsung and Yamaha soundbars are also good options at your budget.

why i choose these 2 model is basically:

Sony HT-X8500: Dolby Atmos, price & compact size
Sonos Beam: Brand, review, price (of coz sony is cheaper) & compact size.

When i looking for TV, i never consider about soundbar and audio enhancements. As the tv fit my requirement and budget, 43inch is the max i can go with my living room size.

But now when i watch Netflix everyday, the sound is ok for me, then i start thinking about upgrade the audio, to experience surround, atmos and etc...

There is no such thing as max size. You sound like person with zero knowledge.

43" is your max ?
That's a very tiny TV. You sit like 3 feet away from the TV is it .

How small is your living area?

for 2 speaker setup, not really.
if you want simplicity(all-in-one setup) and doesnt care about upgradibility, can consider edifier s2000pro or even s3000pro.
if you want simple passive setup, you can could try below.
dac -SMSL Sanskrit 10th SK10 MKII (110usd)
amp - SMSL SA300 (140usd)
speaker - any passive speaker that you preferred

bro does the s2000pro good for netflix?
i value speech clarity more than sound effects?

Guys, I have a couple of questions to ask. I'm planning to get a Xiaomi sound bar, initially was thinking of getting Redmi one but Redmi soundbar doesn't has optical input. I'm using Samsung 55" UA55H6300 TV.

1. If I were to hook up Xiaomi sound bar, will the TV internal speaker still works?
2. Can I use TV remote to control the volume of the sound bar since Xiaomi sound bar doesn't comes with wireless remote control?

Thank you

You need to connect your soundbar using HDMI and if your soundbar supports HDMI CEC, then you can just use your TV remote to control volume and if you power off your TV, your soundbar will follows. Some TV will auto power off internal speaker when you connect soundbar, most just need a settings to change the audio from internal to external.

Why do you want optical input? It is really obsolete. Now everything needs to be HDMI. If your TV supports HDMI ARC, make sure the soundbar does too.

just get audio pro speakers, stereo active speaker with HDMI ARC, Wifi wireless, optical and even a subwoofer output, also a hifi brand.

No point getting soundbar as you wouldnt get richer and wider sound.

To be honest depends on your budget lar, sound system setup can be range from 100+ to 100K+, everyone will suggest you this and that, but what is budget and how much you willing to spend, of cause always is the more you spend the better quality you will get lar, not matter is soundbar, bookshelf speaker, standing speaker or home theater set, all boil down to what is your budget, then the rest can try to suggest you the best option within that prince range.

Thanks for everyone's advice and suggestions. Reason why I'm thinking of getting a sound bar is that my old Samsung TV internal speaker woofer has slightly broken and literally I just want to get a speaker that serves the purpose of projecting the sound out, that's it. Furthermore, I seldom listen to music and stuffs, so I'm not planning to invest much on this. smile.gif

If you want budget, just get the xiaomi sound bar, but no HDMI connection, means you can't use your TV remote to control the volume, you need to get up from your sofa, walk to the sound bar and change the volume, not sure if this is the same case if you connect via bluetooth to your TV.

If not go shoppe look for sound bar that have HDMI ARC, then you can use your TV remote to control the volume.
