why i choose these 2 model is basically:

Sony HT-X8500: Dolby Atmos, price & compact size
Sonos Beam: Brand, review, price (of coz sony is cheaper) & compact size.

try a pair of bookshelf speakers maybe? imho they outperform soundbars twice the price, but if you have space constraint then it might not be viable

but Sony sound quality will be a notch higher compared to Mi... but not as good as the

Apparently this Xiaomi soundbar is quite low quality, is not smart speaker, hence not addition connectivity, you need to manual adjust the volume on the sound bar itself or else connect to bluetooth which the sound quality is not good.

yeah if you have space issues then soundbars are the solution,

in terms of setup, it can really be as simple or as complicated as you want, depending on what you're after. The 3.5mm jack or the optical output always works lol biggrin.gif

for 2 speaker setup, not really.
if you want simplicity(all-in-one setup) and doesnt care about upgradibility, can consider edifier s2000pro or even s3000pro.
if you want simple passive setup, you can could try below.
dac -SMSL Sanskrit 10th SK10 MKII (110usd)
amp - SMSL SA300 (140usd)
speaker - any passive speaker that you preferred

then just get edifier s2000pro or s3000pro.
cucuk toslink cable from your tv and connect the primary speaker with its secondary (wireless for s3000pro) and you are done.

the only downside vs your soundbar solution were the lack of dolby atmos, no subwoofer (but this is something that the bass driver could handle anyway) ,and much bulkier setup. but for speaker, alot of case, bigger speaker will always provide better audio quality.

cant even do 2.0 bookshelf speaker?

soundbar really cannot and doesn't worth the money, unless you really really limited space.

Bookshelf speakers without subwoofer not suitable for movie purpose.

i mainly use it to watch netflix, hence i looking for more convenience setup and also i choose this 2 is because of the HDMI ARC feature, which i would like to setup once and just click and play movie whenever i watch movie.
