You need to connect your soundbar using HDMI and if your soundbar supports HDMI CEC, then you can just use your TV remote to control volume and if you power off your TV, your soundbar will follows. Some TV will auto power off internal speaker when you connect soundbar, most just need a settings to change the audio from internal to external.1.
