BJJ was actually "born" from Judo, but BJJ is more focussed on the ground grappling techniques whereas Judo emphasizes throwing techniques. You can easily go to youtube and watch lots of vids on BJJ. Or better yet, visit any of the local clubs teaching BJJ and see for yourself... QUOTE(z1lch @ Nov 12 2007, 03:49 PM) is BJJ something similar to judo? Hi frens,
Can we actually practice two totally different martial arts at the same time especially if one is the hard-type and the other one the soft-type? Example: taekwondo + taichi or wushu + aikido?
Just some thoughts....

Whoa joining UFC-style competition ah? From what I read from other sites most of them learn the hard type first, den the soft type.
But you can't really use aikido in a combat though... It's against the philosophy, right?

How come you never answered my question : WHAT BELT ARE YOU ?If you are so proud of BJJ surely you are not scared to show your belt ??Guess he's going to run again.

*tsk* You are such an amusing individual... QUOTE(Haunkiem @ Dec 8 2007, 03:27 AM) If you don't answer , we have to assume you have no self belief in all the hype you put up here .
What is not nice about my Question , it is a straight one , either you answer or not .Don't divert the issue. I want to spar with by the way . and by the way his beloved KDT did not win even 1 match in Bangkok . http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/551684

Oh right , so it's the old " try to divert attention " but avoid the Q at all costs.
You are showing yourself to be NON credible. jorusilit or whatever your name is .
from this we have to assume you are a lowly white belt .
For a guy who's been doing BJJ for a couple years , thats pretty poor to say the least .

Well, belts are good for holding up your pants... ps. What's wrong with being a "lowly white belt" anyway? I'm not an instructor or anything. QUOTE(Alone @ Dec 8 2007, 08:50 PM) i guess all haunkiem cares about are his belts ^^

and if he feels someone offends him, he goes for "wan spar?" "come fight me" sad case... unlike you haunkiem, i got better stuffs to do for my future than to just spar a person that thinks about nothing other than spar and belts...
not that i'm afraid, i love to spar too, but too bad for us both, i have more important things to do.. i'm not super saiya that likes to fight and only fight for a living
