QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Aug 10 2007, 11:13 AM) It's a club that does Japanese Jujitsu. They had a kinda demo and in-house sparring competition at Subang Parade. They did some grappling (standing and on the ground). However their technique is a far cry from Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. No one else here saw it at Subang Parade huh? |

How come it's called Ultimate Warrior but they're basically using watered down kickboxing rules?

QUOTE(surehit @ Sep 14 2007, 11:26 PM) Hi Jurusilat, Well I'm not the instructor, but normally BJJ is taught with the gi. I'm sure the instructor will be doing some no-gi as well.May I know the fees per month, classes time-table? Are you teaching sports BJJ (with gi) or no gi or MMA? Any standup other than throws & takedowns? Thanks. AS far as I know, classes are scheduled on Mondays and Thursdays at 8pm. The fees I can't remember, but you can check out the blog that I posted above. |

QUOTE(morph @ Oct 3 2007, 01:18 PM) Thanks for the encouragement guys Whoa...that's pricey! But then all BJJ gis are... You guys got your GIs already? I managed to get one for myself, but it's RM448, havent collect it yet. OMG! New sport, damn expensive to start off. Anyway if it's a good brand, it will last for years. |

QUOTE(morph @ Oct 3 2007, 05:32 PM) Yeah, it's pricey. Ahh...Gameness. Good gi. Price is actually ok since it's pretty good quality. I got it from KDTA. It's a Gameness Platinum Weave. According to Gameness's website, it's the highest range Gi. http://www.gameness.com/gear.htm I decided to get a good one since I'm going to be serious about it. hahaha! Check out with KDTA for your GIs, if you really want a BJJ and not those Aikido and Judo. |

QUOTE(morph @ Oct 5 2007, 12:21 AM) That's quite normal, but with regular practice , you will get used to it in no time. Also it would be helpful to check out some BJJ books (if you haven't already) available locally at Borders and Kinokuniya. Lots of good DVDs out there too (have to order from the States). |

BJJ was actually "born" from Judo, but BJJ is more focussed on the ground grappling techniques whereas Judo emphasizes throwing techniques. You can easily go to youtube and watch lots of vids on BJJ.
Or better yet, visit any of the local clubs teaching BJJ and see for yourself... QUOTE(z1lch @ Nov 12 2007, 03:49 PM) This post has been edited by jurusilat: Nov 12 2007, 07:10 PM |

You are such an amusing individual... QUOTE(Haunkiem @ Dec 8 2007, 03:27 AM) If you don't answer , we have to assume you have no self belief in all the hype you put up here . What is not nice about my Question , it is a straight one , either you answer or not . Don't divert the issue. I want to spar with by the way . and by the way his beloved KDT did not win even 1 match in Bangkok . http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/551684 |
